CS DP(no cat)
 

hey mazda community


was considering attaching a CS or other downpipe (catless) with racepipe, to my ark exhaust.
I know running catless triggers a cel which i will turn off with the AP
and i have autotech hpfp internals

my questions are........
will it burn it out the turbo?
do i need a special tune or will ots work until i get a special/dyno tune?
do i still need a little backpressure?
will it effect my mpg?

The OTS tune is designed for the COBB downpipe which has one high flow cat, so a custom tune is recommended for a catless downpipe. You do run a greater risk of your turbo smoking with a catless downpipe because of the decreased backpressure, there are a few "fixes" for this like increasing idle, 5w-40 oil, bnoon bolt, or just getting a manly fucking BT. Your MPGs won't negatively suffer, in fact, they will probably improve.

I run catless down pipe to straight pipe back exhaust and have never had a CEL light from it. If your going to get a DP you might aswell throw out another $100 for a tune to get the max gains from the mods you have! Talk to this guy, he will hook you up! @RichieRichness

I have it, no problems whatsoever. Once you get a dp, that's when the fun begins.
