Dealer tomorrow for 3 codes and Tranny

So my 2013 with 17k has been throwing 3 codes. P0455-EVAP control system leak detected (gross leak). P0457-Evaporative Emission System leak detected (fuel cap loose/off). And then P2299 Brake pedal position accelerator incompatible. Ok, the first 2 all started when my fuel door lever inside the car broke. I went to open it and when I did it just got stuck in the open position. I got the code a couple days later. From then I haven't been able to fill my car with gas normally. I have to slowly put gas in it or it overfills. The transmission problem is 2nd gear popping out everytime I let off or slow down in 2nd gear and then 5th gear grinding every now and then. I don't know why this is doing this so early, I've only owned the car for 9 months and I drive it fine. The main thing I want to know is if my warranty is going to cover this. This is my first time ever going to a dealership to get my car looked at for problems I am having.

Dralphy 04-15-2014 06:10 PM

I assume you bought this new, and in my assumptions, you should be fine at the dealer.

Looks like you got a bad egg for sure. Do you have any mods?

boostwhore 04-15-2014 06:29 PM

Yeah brand new. The car has lowering springs, wheels, ultimate racing cbe, forge bpv v1, I unmarried the ap.

Chief_Wiggum 04-15-2014 06:56 PM

Put the stock bpv back on; its quick, easy and one less thing for them to note.

ChaunceyM 04-16-2014 06:58 PM

Sucks about the car, man. Although I'm a bit disappointed after reading the thread. When I first read the subject I thought to myself "well, at least he'll be having some fun while the dealer works on those codes." Turns out you'll be having no fun AND you have a messed up transmission.

CornBread 04-24-2014 11:38 PM

well what happened????

jesus nobody ever finishes a post around here

Damn, I have to start driving my car more! :33:

Have you ever raced your car ever? yes or no be honest?

Have you ever speed shifted it? Regarding transmission? Also maybe a mount or shifter issue is happening?

The gas tank problem I had my girls car we replaced the gas cap and it went away. If you have the appropriate scanner you can run tests on your evap system to check all these items. Well at least my vws and audis did.

And the warranty should cover everything here man. My speed 6 had an axle leak/transmission leak and even with full boltons, suspension, etc They covered it for free over 1200 dollars including replacing an axle.

Dude everyone does or has raced their car, or has driven them hard like they are racing. Bottom line it's a sports car that should be able to take some abuse and be driven hard. IMO a 2013 with 17k miles shouldn't have a problem. As for the OP, I hope they fix everything 100% so you can enjoy your car like you intended to.

As for your first part.. NO they haven't :) (In the real world not everybody treats their car like crap). But for your second part I 100 percent agree about the warranty covering the issue. The ECU records speeds/etc if he downshifted.

I say for example if your launching your car and dig racing then your far more likely to break something transmission related/mechanical rather than a roll and not downshifting etc.

A mazdaspeed 3 IS NOT A SPORTS CAR.. I own one and if you think it is I feel truly sorry for you. It might be a sport compact. But its not in anyway a sports car! Those are high end cars that come with big power stock.

Well if you bought a mazdaspeed 3 to drive it like a fag then your dumb. It's not treating your car like crap, it's driving it like it was intended to be. And it's a turbocharged sport model. It's not sports car? Tell that to my insurance company

CaptObvious75 04-27-2014 08:09 AM

This car was meant to be beaten up a bit. OP, let's us know how the warranty stuff goes. Just bad luck unfortunately

Whole post is full of fail. The mazdaspeed is a sports car. A sports car does not have to cost 100,000 dollars. It doesn't even have to have 2 doors. And as far as hurting the car launching from a dig... I read a review once that Mazda stated how they got their 0-60 time was by dropping clutch at 3000rpm and flat foot shifting. So I think it's built to handle about anything you can throw at it. Now modded is another story ops car is mostly stock so he should not be having trans problems at the power levels he's at.

Technically

A sports car (sportscar) is a small, usually two seat, two door automobile designed for spirited performance and nimble handling. Sports cars may be spartan or luxurious but high maneuverability and minimum weight are requisite
A Miata would even be considered a sports car over a mazdaspeed 3..
I don't think any FWD that I can think of is labeled a sports car per se. Sport compact but not a sports car.
To me though a sports car is a high dollar high hp car that's a 2 door. A 4 door would be a sports sedan if it was rwd or awd.

Our cars are sport compacts well if you own one. Although Its a heavy mofo for one

That tranny issue seems like a factory defect, and something they should cover. Don't let them push you around on that, nothing you've done could cause that sort of problem

If you buy this car not to beat on it, you're a faggot.

I unleash hell on my car every day, she's at almost 60k miles, over 600 logs recorded, a lot of gear banging, a lot of FFS, a lot of 6-puck engagement goodness.

Not a single issue like OP has mentioned.
