Default Disable buttons on steering wheel?

Hi,

I've searched the forum for this topic, but wasn't able to find an answer. I'm very new to autocross, but one thing that I've come to discover that almost every run, I would push the "talk-to-command" button on my steering wheel. So my question is, is there anyway to temporarily disable some of these buttons, to prevent it from getting activated.

Another option I was thinking of, was to have some sort of cover on it.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Not sure if there's a fuse for it, but you could just put masking tape over the buttons. It will not leave any residue and should have enough tension to not let you depress the buttons. Add a few layers if you have to.

There is a thread about disabling the SWAS and the TS pulled the wrong clip and it disabled the buttons on the steering wheel. I'm too lazy to dig it up again but you'll be able to find it with a quick search for "SWAS."

this is just my .02 here but if OP is just autox-ing on the weekends or whatever...it's probably just easier to put some tape on it like previously mentioned and just go that route...not saying pulling the cover to get the to the fuses is difficult but being a lazy asshole I'd rather just get some tape and slap it on there.

Yea, I found the thread and i'm more than likely not going to disable the SWAS....I think tape will be my solution. Thanks guys.
