Default Electronic torque limiter

So i am new to the 2010 speed3 and am doing a lot of reading and searching. Interestingly i see a lot of variation in respected automotive sources (think car and driver, etc) descriptions of the electronic torque management system. Some say it only applies for the first two gears for 2010 model cars, others say the first three. Who is right?

I know how the system works in concept. I am just wondering if anyone can kick me in the right direction to find someone who has measured or found the stock program formula for max torque by gear and steering lock. It would make for an informative spreadsheet. I am not interested in an aftermarket tuning program at this point, and i realize they can remove the limits. Edit: i don't want to defeat the system, just learn more about it.

At the end of the day i am most interested in third gear as you spend a lot of time in third in our local track.

Thanks for any help.

AFAIK the exact logic governing SWAS hasn't been uncovered in the ECU yet, and quite honestly there is no reason to. Disable it and done.

What are you hoping to do with the information? Or is it just a thirst for knowledge thing?

It's just the tune in the first few gears don't target as high of load levels as the later gears that's all. Just get a cobb accessport and be done with it.

Thirst. I like to know how things work.

Gen two also has torque limiting on the stock tune in third gear regardless of SWAS working or not. Gen one only had it in first two gears.

Again, every review article says the same thing. I know that it happens, i just want to know how much. There must at least be some dynos recorded. it would then be interesting to fool the computer into thinking the wheel is turned while on the dyno.

Does someone at least know what gears are limited? (1+2, 1-3, or I recently found a thread that said all gears are limited by steering lock). Edit, answered above as i typed this. Thanks.
