Engine mount Hello Everyone I am just wondering see if anyone had similar problem as me. I installed the CS PMM few weeks back and when I did it the engine slightly moved a little bit forward and dropped a bit. I did use the jack stand just slightly touch the oil pan but it still dropped and I did jacked it up right away. Now my problem is at lower gear when shift or more like when there will be a force on the engine mount my CS RMM(installed a little bit over a year) will make clicking and clunk noise. I am just wondering is my RMM bad? Or it is due to then engine slightly moved forward when installed the PMM? I did noticed before the PMM was installed my RMM will make squeeze sound when there is a movement. For CS RMM how can I tell the mount is bad? Its easy on the oem but the CS RMM looks fine to me. Appreciated for the advise Thank you. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk |
Are you sure it's your RMM making that noise? I have JBR TMM/PMM and COBB RMM and my engine is noisy as hell. I thought so many things were broken, but it's just the nature of a stiffer engine. But, can you better describe what you're having a problem? Have you gone back in and tightened down the bolts for the mount? They suggest doing it after a few hundred miles, and since the engine gets a lot more vibration, it's possible you just have something loose. |
Hello, thank you for your advised. Been busy with work and just bought myself a c4 corvette during the longweekend. Yes, I did re-torqued after few hundre miles. The sound is more like metal to metal and not just clucking once and It only happen in first and second gear no matter fast or slow acceleration. Since I knew the RMM is making squeeze sound and slightly making clicking sound under forced when I was checking all the mount so I greased with some brake lubricant (safe on rubber ) Noise is gone now. Love the vibration from aftermarket motor mounts. I guess I will still need to replace the cs rmm later on the road. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk |
