Exhaust Stain so i was washing my car last night and noticed that the paint around my tailpipes was all shitty. i figured it was just the same type of soot that i find on the back of my car that just wipes off. i was wrong. it's actually staining the paint (see pic below). so i'm curious to see if others experienced this? is this normal for this engine? it nearly looks like it's too hot causing some type of burning effect, but i can't imagine that would be the case. could it be my tune? perhaps it's running too rich and that's causing extra soot? why the hell is it staining so badly? for those of you that have experienced this (if any)...how the fuck did you get that off? my next attempt will be a polish i guess. and for those that say "real ms3 owners drive with dirty bumpers" or some shit...that's not for me. i want a clean car. cheers http://s8.postimage.org/nit6gus6t/photo_20.jpg |
Try some goofoff to see if that will take that off, that stuff normally takes anything off, and is usually paint safe |
Get some claybar and 3m adhesive remover. Should take care of it. |
i'll have to try that goo-gone stuff. typical of a car with <5k miles on it?! still baffled at the 'why'. |
Paint rear valence, problem solved. |
It's just turbo spit. Because race car. |

And I found that using a wax applicator and spray wax will take it right off. So when I wash the car I try to get as much off as I can, and then when I'm waxing I just wipe it off with a separate rag or whatever. Comes right off. I don't like to use strong chemicals to take stuff off. Back when I was a detailer, I would see rims and interiors all fucked up from using miscellaneous chemicals to clean the car. It was bad. Lol. |
Bcuz Racekor. |
the rear of my MSP is permanently charred black because of the same thing lol It happens |
