Extended warranty on 11 speed3 Hey, I just picked up a brand-new 2011 speed 3, four weeks ago this Friday. I really love the car and it will get used as my daily driver. I have almost 2000 miles on it already and do 500 a week, mostly highway for work. So here's my question. The factory bumper to bumper warranty for me will last probably just over a year. When I bought the car, they offered an extended warranty which looked pretty decent. The price was about 1,100 bucks and It was 5 years, 100,000 miles I think. Do you guys think that is worth the price with how much I drive? I don't know much about how this car holds up down the road so that's where I'd like your input. Thanks Spd3 |
I got mine for around 1000 and as much as I drive I just convinced myself to get it. I could afford it so I bought it. some people will say no it's stupid, but some will say it's worth it. 1 blown turbo after the initial 36k and it pays for itself. |
If you buy the warranty at this point you're gonna pay more than the $1000 they offered you. Not sure on the exact amount but they tell you it's cheaper to buy it when you purchase the car. |
No, it'll be the same price. They offered me one month for the same price to think it over. I'm down to a few days left now. |
I thought powertrain was 60k |
i'll get it if i was you. hopefully you Plan to Jeeps the Speed 3 around. I'll get mine right betöre the Six months. The Lady from financing is Kind of Close to me lately (bcs they are expecting me to come and buy an Other New Car hehe, they'll See me in their dream unless the Next gen have HP increarses. She was Helling me that weithin a Year and if you have los milesnon it, it'll still Be the Same price Go for Men, those Cars are Build to Be abused. Go for! |
Powertrain is 60k but the CPO wrap coverage is 100k. I bought it...it covers the entire car for 100k miles. IMO its totally worth it, if something breaks you don't have to come out of pocket to get it replaced, and in my situation it only added $3 more a month onto my payment. |
Fuck, my stealership charged me 2250-ish for the ext. warranty. But for a 5yr loan, it will cost me more than that. I think the easy questions to ask yourself is 1. Are you planning to mod your car prior to the end of your warranty? 2. If yes to #1, what/how many mods? 3. Are you willing to "stock out" before every dealer visit? I live in Ca & have the right to cancel my ext. Warranty at any time. I chose to cancel last week because I decided that I would rather deal with any potential issue myself instead of fight with denmodding & arguing with Mazda that my car never had mods. I bet if you ask donotbugme here, he'll tell you that he never wants to do a Downpipe install ever again. Lol. I suggest getting it if you dont plan on modding much & want peace of mind. Also find out if your allowed to cancel. I did and received all but $75 dollars of the cost back. |

Flip through your warranty booklet and it'll say that the turbo (and all internal parts) are covered under your warranty, says the same thing even on the Mazda website (I couldn't find it on the usa site, went to the .ca site instead). I don't imagine that the warranty between US and Canada will be different, if anything the US warranty might even be better. It also says that it is "included for all 2009 models and newer"... so this doesn't cover the gen 1s from previous years? Maybe that's why I was told the turbo was only bumper-to-bumper. http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...llama/Clip.jpg |

I bought it on my 2010. Its just piece of mind knowing that if shit breaks, all I have to do is stock out and take it to the dealer. |
I considered it, then decided that the money I don't spend on the extended warranty could be invested instead in an rrsp or something, which would net me more tax savings from the great stealership of the north. |
I was told I can only take my car to the dealer I got the car from for warranty work. Is this true? The dealer I got mine from was pointing shit out that would void my warranty when I went in for a problem they did little to nothing to diagnose. |
Bullshit. The dealer gets paid for warranty work, of course they want you to go back to them. What stuff did they point out that would 'void' your warranty? |
I bought mine, but it was offered through the financing, dropped my interest 2% and gave me gap coverage on top of a warranty for the life of the loan. No brainer with the gap coverage for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapasuck |
