factory STB question

i want to know if it is ok to temporarily remove the factory STB on the drivers side so I can get closer to the hole in the firewall where I ran my wiring through

I want to wrap the wires in some loom so they don't rub on the edges on the hole in the firewall.

do I just take the weight off the front suspension while I do it?
thanks

Is an STB Strut Tower Bar? If you're planning on running wires through the hood release gromet, don't bother removing stuff there.

I ran my boost gauge sensor wiring through there and found the best way to do it is to pull the gromet out of the firewall from under the dash, detach the hood release cable from the hood latch and feed the cable partially back into the cabin. Once you have the gromet far enough out to see what you're doing push your wires through it and feed the wires, gromet and hood release cable back up through the hole in the firewall from the inside and seat the gromet (some silicone spray helps alot).

This took me several hours to figure out the first time around but I could probably do it in less than 20 using this method. Just don't forget to re-attach the hood release cable before you close the hood :-)

thanks for the info. I was installing my WM system. I already ran everything outside the hood release grommet. just want to try to protect the wires as best as I can now that everything is already installed.
