First Mod Just put in a K&N Typhoon SRI, and new RMM inserts (from corksport.com)..I've had the car about 4 months and just now got enough scratch to spend on it haha. Anyways WOW, what a difference the K&N makes, added some nice i guess rumble to to engine and the RMM inserts are amazing. I'd def recommend them to anyone who wants more stability with out replacing the whole RMM. Anybody else have a K&N?...Thoughts on it? |
There are quite a few of us that have the K&N. I tried the CPE and the Cobb intakes prior to my K&N and they both gave me a check engine light. I have not had a single problem with my K&N. It was, however, a pain in the ass to install because it is hard to get everything to line up with the heat shield |
Glad you like, it only gets more fun after that. Any other plans? |

inserts suck, should have gotten a rmm. |
Any suggestions on what to put on next? |
Upgraded Fuel Pump and Cobb Ap. Pricey, yes. Best bang for the buck, easy to stock out, and any power mods down the road require the fp and will be made better in conjuction with the AP. |

Ok..I've been doing some research and have decided I'm going to get the AP, I just have to rob a liquor store first to get the money. But Thanks for the input guys. Side Note: Have read a lot of people suggest getting a DP and Turbo Inlet, I'm guessing i should do this after the AP? ...like I said i'm very new to all this so I appreciate the help. |
Definitely AP then the Fuel Pump everything after that is just, pure fun with very little headache. You just need to save that $$$ for the first two! |

i got the SURE Aeros (SRI), Sidewinder (TIP/TIH) and test pipe (removes one cat) and had no issues... I just bought the AP and in learning how to tune that, and seeing what was going on with my car, i realized to get more power the very next thing is a upgraded HPFP or FP internals. I am going with the KMD internal. CP-e's shit is too expensive. So with the Aeros, Sidewinder, testpipe, TIGs, AP and soon upgraded fuel pump... the sky will be the limit and i can safely adjust my boost levels to 18+ right now i am running a stage 1 sf+tih 93 with zero knock at 14-16psi. can't go any higher without the fuel pump. Also being a person that has been modding for 10 years... save up and be patient and do it right the first time. In my early years i would spend twice as much because i wasn't patient. example: bought a catback and then a year later bought a turbo back exhaust. So my exhaust system ended up costing me 2K instead of 1500... good luck! |
If you want KMD you better jump on that waiting list. Took me almost 3 months to get mine |
My first mods were the Corksport SRI/TIP and Silicone boost tubes and by-pass hose. I think that was a great start. Next on my list is that pesky RMM. Then prob an AP. I would do the AP before the DP. |

I'll see what I have in paypal when I get off work this evening. |
Once your pump is upgraded you can do anything you want in any order really........dp, fmic/tmic, test pipe, etc |

Care to comment on this? I'm in the market, but I don't plan on racing the car so.... |

Just curious why you were so quick to shit on a viable option for those who see this platform as a fun DD and not a wannabe race car. Not everyone needs 75 duro :22: |
Just get the JBR RMM. You can get the 70dm. Don't waste your money on inserts. They don't work. It's a half assed mod. |

and it takes like 2 mins to swap it out for dealer visits i don't race but i do have 75 duro, the vibration is not bad at all unless you turn on the AC. and i hate AC, so it's perfect for me i would have gotten the JBR one, but it wasn't available back then |
I have the cpe 65 duro rmm, I wish now I would have gotten the 75. After 500 miles on slight vibes with the airon at idle. As for dealer visits how often do you go? I haven't been back since I drove it of the lot. |

Actually internals install is just a few steps more than the fuel pump install. Not worth an extra $350 in my opinion |

OP, for a cheap mod I'd recommend JBR short shifter plate with knob. While you're there you might as well get his RMM. I had the CS inserts as a hold over while I waited for SU RMM to come off backorder (JBR's wasn't out yet at the time). The CS inserts aren't bad for $30 but I can certainly tell a difference after installing the SU RMM, JBR's is almost certainly more robust and well reviewed here. ANY RMM is a vast improvement over inserts but for the price of them I can understand why you went that route. I'm in roughly the same boat as you and AP then internals is my planned route from here. |
wait.... JBR short shifter plate and a heavy know are just some MUST items don't think, just get it. :D |

I just placed my order for the CP-E rmm from edgeautosport.com. Awesome price and he shipped the damn thing like not even 2 hrs later! Heres a link ---> Edge Autosport |
Well today I installed my Cobb TIP. I totally should have ordered the TIP the same time I got my SRI. But anyways, everything went pretty smooth, until i got done putting everything back together and realized I forgot to tighten down the clamp on the turbo, so I had to redo some stuff but finally got it all worked out. I was able to notice immediately the fact that the car was a lot more responsive and seemed to really want to go at WOT, and shifting was much smoother. Overall it was a pretty decent experience and I've learned a lot about my car since I've started working on it. Next thing i have to buy now is the AP. But that will probably take a little while to get. I had planned on taking pictures during the install, but once I got working i totally forgot. |
These are the mods I did in order on my 2011: JBR short shifter with solid shifter base bushings, Cobb AP, Cobb Sri/Tip, forge bpv, cp-e rmm, Denso ITV22, Greddy oil catch can and than re-flashed the ECU to Stage1+SF+TIH 93 BT. also, i did a few little misc things like HIDS, shark fin, and had the res cut out for a little more sound. My car transformed from awesome to :censored:awesome... |
Well i just got 800 and some bucks back from my state taxes, totally forgot about that so i guess now i can buy the AP. fuckin sweet. haha |
Well i got my AP the other day...now how in the hell do i use this thing? |
Read the guide/manual |

Read it... Still don't really know what I'm doing with it though, I put in the Stage1 map to go with my SRI and TIP at 91oct... I guess what I'm asking for is what should i be monitoring and all that? |
You can do 3rd gear logs and monitor a setting of your choice. I think you go on data logs and start a log. To do a 3rd gear pull, start around 2600 rpms and go WOT till around 6500. Then stop the log. Go on your computer and download it. You can monitor while you drive as well, but it'll only let you see one at a time. It also lets you alert it when it's time to shift. There's plenty of things to play around with. And make sure you contact Cobb with the Serial# and download ATR. |
thanks man...like i said at the start of this thread, I'm new to all this crap so Im a little lost. |
