First Mods on the way

So the family and some friends all pitched in for me and ordered my Sure Aeros intake and TIP! Can't wait for them to come in. First mods going in! :arms:

Awesome! Isn't it exciting! This car is sick even stock so I can't wait to test this (almost) same new setup.

Hey get some dynos before and after so we can compare to my new Cobb setup. Unless you don't have an AccessPort then it doesn't matter because I will be running the stage 1 (mild tune) compared to your factory program during my dyno runs.

I wish I had family and friends that would pitch in to buy me mods...

Well, you'll love them both otherwise.

Dmurray06 01-08-2012 12:29 PM

Lucky! Anytime I ever mention what a good Xmas/bday present mods for my car would be, I just get laughed at. And told its a waste of money....I usually just lie to the ol' lady say my car is going in for service, then I mod it w/o her knowing haha

ScottyP 01-09-2012 12:44 PM

Haha well I got some friends involved to as well. Figured a birthday/Xmas present would work. I was originally gonna get the turbosmart bpv then realized the SRI and TIP was the same price. Hopefully street unit ships it quick I'm itching to get that installed.

And I would love to compare logs for COBB vs SURE but sadly I don't have the AP yet. I think internals->ap->dp is next in order.

street unit is always quick unless it's not in stock.

Yea I've heard many good things about SU so I'm not worried there... more less impatient :P

Onelovesoccer 01-10-2012 11:31 AM

i have both. they are great! you'll feel a difference for sure (pun not intended). great product, great service. and like it says above, always quick shipping unless it is out of stock.

what color did you go with?

for your mod list, you should incorporate a RMM, short shift plate, counterweight and shifter anchors. a re-circulation tube is cheap and easy too. at the very least, spend the money for the RMM. it'll make the SRI/TIP feel even better since you'll be putting more power to the ground by replacing the OEM mount.

I went with white for both. I'm gonna do a white/black look under the hood....considering the car is white haha. An RMM is for sure next on the list but as far as bigger mods go im gonna start saving for the AP and stuff. I would like to change the recirc tube and the intercooloer tubes with the SURE replacement... again white. How are the shift anchors and counterweight?

DISIindahead 01-10-2012 12:33 PM

lucky bastard...youll enjoy the new mods

Onelovesoccer 01-10-2012 12:36 PM

oh ok awesome. the anchors are great, but you'll curse trying to install them. not because it is hard, but because mazda puts all sorts of clips in hard to reach places...

counterweight and shift plate are easy installs and work well. i would just do it when you do the SRI/TIP since you'll want to have the intake out to put them in. same with the recirc tube.

I ordered my shit through sure and it's been over 10 days and still no parts. It irritates the shit out of me. Don't think I'll order directly from sure ever again. I hope your shit comes sooner. I havent ordered through street unit. Good luck I'm excited for my shit to come in. But get jbr mounts. Way nicer and gets their in a day with free shipping

Onelovesoccer 01-10-2012 01:19 PM

that blows dude. have you called them? they are usually really good about making it up to someone who experienced a problem. i've only ordered via streetunit.com though, not suremotorsports.com.

also, did you pay for shipping or something? streetunit.com doesn't charge for shipping either.

Jhornbrook 01-10-2012 01:40 PM

fuckin bogus i already emailed them. they hopefully hook me up with a free tshirt but i just want my parts. i paid 30 something for shipping too.

Onelovesoccer 01-10-2012 01:42 PM

holy shit man. that's so weak! well, if you ever do decide to order via SU again, be sure to use streetunit.com. i've never had a single problem and shipping is free (for standard shipping, 3-5 business days). JBR seems to always deliver faster though. 2 days for free shipping is incredible.

That kind of sucks, must be a fluke.

I ordered my RMM and Intake from them and it was fast shipping(normal 3-5 days). Ordered on a Sunday and got them Thursday I believe.

There products are top notch along with really quik email replys.

Mike@Stratified 01-12-2012 07:48 PM

Gotta be a fluke or shipper issue. I ordered Tuesday and received on Thursday, regular ground.

Jhornbrook 01-14-2012 09:34 AM

It was a fluke I ended up getting them Thursday after I emailed them. Very helpful people. I let them know what washing on and they upgraded me to 1 day overnight. Love the parts sounds and looks great.

ScottyP 01-17-2012 11:03 AM

AH so i installed my Sure SRI and TIP on saturday... and it sounds AWESOME! haha
