First Oil Change

Penzoil Plat or Shell Rotella T6 5w-40. These 2 are supposed to be the best in the mzr. I run the Shell.

Just took my car in yesterday to the dealer for an oil change. Service guy said it takes 5.5 quarts. Sidenote, one of my tires had a nail in it and they refused to plug it. Dealer told me it was non repairable, and wanted to sell me another dunlop at $272.00. My tire has 3500 miles on it. Said thank you, went down the street to discount tire, got it patched up at no charge, and apparently Discount tire will sell you road hazard certificates for about $30 per tire. If something happens with my tire, they will replace it and all i have to pay are the $30 for the same exact dunlops.

Yeah, the manual says 6 quarts, but I usually put in 5 and a little extra and I'm at or near the max line on the dipstick.

Yeah, 5 puts me 1/2 way up the dipstick, and I prefer not to fill 100% to max...so that's right in line w/ what I see on mine. (Napa Gold filter, believe it's Wix brand)

Look at Walmart to. I think they charge $7 or $12 a tire for road hazard and this is for life.

I'll have to check them out as well. The streets I drive on are not usually that great.

My first oil change I used a mobil 1 oil filter. This last one I just did, I used a bosch as they had them at walmart,

I think it is funny (to each his own) that the OP wanted recommendations on oil, and after all of the recommendations, he put Mobil 1 in. LOL.

Hmm i like the sound of getting my dunlops replaced for $30 a tire.
