Flat Foot Shifting

So ive been reading up on FFS and what not and saw in a thread that FFS doesnt work in genpu's but that was back last year of august.

So my question is has Cobb fixed this problem? Ive been looking all around and cant find anything up to date saying its fixed. Can someone please give some feed back? thanks

shadow102 08-28-2013 06:21 PM

since when has FFS not worked in the pu?

sure your not talking about brake boosting?

yeah i just started using it and changing it in ATR, whats you FFS set too? and what do you usually shift at when running someone?

Cevaes_64 08-28-2013 07:25 PM

iirc its 2800 lc then 5300 for ffs and like 8mph on the vsl

Tots343 08-28-2013 07:32 PM

okay cool i have my LC at 2900 and my FFS at 5900 because i shift at 6500.. 5900 to high you think? still trying to figure it out and how i like it

Cevaes_64 08-28-2013 07:35 PM

It all depends on your driving habits but 5900 is too high, most people would vary from 4800 to 5400 tops

Tots343 08-28-2013 07:37 PM

okay cool thanks i really appricate it! ill have to go revise this map and set my vsl. thanks again

DAN MPS 3 08-28-2013 11:56 PM

I shift at around 6200PRM with FFS set at 5100RPM. Best FFS limiter I have found for my driving style.

Cevaes_64 08-29-2013 12:36 PM

That`s the speed that you want your LC to stop limiting, most ppl use from 7 to 10 MPH

make sure you change the units on ATR

okay i did that and i change it in vehicle speed threshold right?

Cevaes_64 08-29-2013 12:47 PM

dont even bother to change that unless you plan on going over 200MPH

Yep but that is only if I am racing someone and FFS which is very infrequent in comparison to the amount of total miles I put on the car.

Got a 2013 with 40k and I have FFS through a few gears maybe 30 times. I dont drive it hard before or after a pull like that either. Normally if I am getting on it I am not racing anyone so I am shifting around 5800-6000 and not FFS.

After the first two weeks of having FFS I was over it unless I thought it was needed.

There are plans on a build with a BT in the future but until then I am not worried

Cevaes_64 08-30-2013 09:53 PM

lol same here... its a blast at first but then you dont use it anymore
i usually shift at 3.5K RPM(I drive like granma) but if im racing somebody (rare thing) i shift right at 6K

i also have a `13 with little less then 8K, i was fully bolted and tuned minus the turbo since 1.5K

couldnt wait lol

And now that I think about it, prior to my custom tune about 4 months ago I FFS shifted on or before 6000. Mainly because those OTS tunes seemed to stop pulling by then.

Maybe that is why the OTS tunes don't have the timing up as high as a custom tune. Random guess though!

Cevaes_64 08-30-2013 10:43 PM

Do some logs and take them to vd there you will know where your car stops pulling

Why if your on stock turbo?

Cevaes_64 08-30-2013 11:07 PM

even tuned stock turbo will die after 5700 rmps (to be generous)
