fortressofcomfort is still alive

To my fanbase I salute you! I have been strapped down with so much shit lately. By the way I ended up putting the front of my car all back together. I have 1/4 mile times and Cobb AP data and again, with or without all that crap in the fascia the difference is INCONCLUSIVE.

Time to go pay the wife some alimony bitch.

I DID put on a UR test pipe for $160 and it made the car sound no different whatsoever except a little tiny eeisny bit louder. Picked up about 5-8g/s but have not tracked it yet. @Captain KR has offered to gut my stock cat but I'm torn between that, or just getting the UR upper DP for $280 (thank Eric!!) and still having the capt install it for like $5. At 15k miles I'm still weary of having to stock out for repairs or go in for emissions tests.

Some cool things that happened while I was gone: 1) I myself got the engine to hit the firewall once so here is my consclusion: I'm still not gonna change it. I shifted from 5th to 2nd like a dumbass and I believe having everything "give" a bit is a good thing (flame suit engaged). The stock mount is not torn. 2) I raced in the middle of pack of crotch rockets. Surely they could've lost me but collectively 125-130mph was about the right speed apparently. 2a) I sped up after a separate set of crotch rockets that were all when the road opened up. I'm surprised at how pooorly the average crotch rocket pulls in the 130+ range. pussy. Anyway we all took the next exit ramp and one of the dicks laid his bike down at 55mph. Got up and walked back to his bike, probably on pure adrenaline. Probably suffered massive internal injuries but he's the one with the attitude and the one who gave me the finger, I was just a bystander. Funnny thing was my friend and I were just having a conversation about how dangerous motorcycles are. 3) I've seen 146mph indicated for the SECOND time on my car so what's that 100mph? 4) After you take off the front clip (fascia) you realize there's a SHITLOAD of room to buildout a CAI down there. Is that where the MazdaSpeed/Injen one puts it? WTF? 5) I drove past Will's house late at night but did not leaev the twin stripes as promised. 6) I rotated my tires for what I think is the last time. At 15k miles and about 200 yards of combined peelout, the rears are now AT the wear bars and the fronts have maybe 5k to go. So I'm thinking 20k. I had a terrible case of curb rash the other day so I think I'm gonna put some high perf snow tires on there come Dec, and then in Apr get a new set of wheels and tires 10mm wider. I am surprised at the lack of 19" wheels available for our cars but I guess 18" is really good enough. 7) Someone needs to build a CAI that replaces one of the foglights with a 3" opening and routes it up to the cone filter. Fucking do it and I'll buy it. Ram air effect worth at least 15-20hp. Include sticker for hmmmmm. 8) If you do not get rust in eyes and at least one bloody knuckle you are not doing your exhaust work properly.

OK That's it just wanted to say hi, I'm still out there tracking 1-2 a week, thsi fucking heat won't let me beat my 13.3 so fuck it I might just build it out during the summer and then go for 12s on radials in early November.

Cheers. ya'll

Good to hear from ya man. I am a former rider and will ride again, but on the 2+ year recovery plan from a bad crash. But like anything, I push the limits, and the limit was found. Lol. That being said, I run bikes on the regular. Let's just say, a 600 isn't leaving us behind. I have passed or stayed with every one that has tried to run. I have also been on hold for running at the track, so maybe we will hit some slow 12's at the same time. Haha. Anyways, have fun man, keep her wide open, and stay fuckin cool. That humidity will get you everytime.

God damn what an incoherent post, and I'm not even drunk yet.

Welcome back, I guess.

Tl;dr

I guess I am king...

himurax13 07-03-2012 08:51 PM

Well I told you that a gutted downpipe barely added any noise. Maybe in the lower frequencies, LOL. Where are videos of said shenanigans? ;)

jack_hammer 07-03-2012 09:26 PM

@fortressofcomfort Nice to see your long posts again haha
You get my email!?

CWP_MS3 07-05-2012 08:50 AM

You didn't miss anything....

GODspeed7 07-06-2012 03:01 AM

Wait so why are you against a RMM? There still is some movement thats why the bushings aren't made of steel. If you ever drove a mounted car you would see what all the hype is about.

Voltron 07-06-2012 05:12 AM

How in the world did you shift from 5th into 2nd? They are on opposite ends of the world, and you would literally have to force in.

And welcome back.

CaptObvious75 07-06-2012 06:27 AM

typical fortress of comfort post... i read the first and last paragraph. Welcome back bitch!

fortressofcomfort 07-07-2012 03:30 AM

@manilaMS12 I think we got the email bit squared away. I'll lookey tomorrow.
A GoPro or whatever would be cool.
5th to 2nd I blame on the Cobb knob and significantly reduced shifter weight lol. If you drove like me you'd see how it is possible.
Saving for tires, saving for tires.... running low quickly.

MS3G35 07-09-2012 04:42 PM

Good to see your back

Tokay444 07-09-2012 04:53 PM

You're not gonna change what? The engine?

Welcome back, I guess.

I was thinking severe ADD flare up. I have finished a lot of Jack Daniels and had more cohesive ramblings. @fortressofcomfort are you out of medication?
