The owner is an older man who works for Mazda corporate and had his vehicle serviced at the dealer I bought it from. They showed me records. I know the history. The sales guy even texted the previous owner for me. The guy has bought over 7 other mazdas from them.

You assume too much. If I was not comfortable with the history, I would have walked.

For price reference, I just bought my stock (+K&N SRI) 2012 nontech with 42k miles for $16k.
