Typical GenPu....welcome to 5 years ago.

FYI, drop motor mounts, trans mount, and you can lower engine and move it forward.

I know what you mean man. I was ready to set fire to my car doing this shit. What a PITA. All because of the stupid heat shield bolts.

Not to mention my car previously had a aftermarket dp, then I had it taken off since I didn't have AP or internals and the shop put everything back to stock using air tools and stripped several bolts in the process. Making it one hell of an install.

Meanwhile a local had his done on a lift in about 2 hours. Hang in there man. I had everything that could go wrong, go wrong on mine. I think it took like 13 hrs total. But at least I didn't strip the O2 sensors.

Im just more pissed the shop closes so early, I had everything else off in an hour and a half. Other then some butter fingers and a 14mm wrench to the face I'm pretty happy with the progress. I PB'ed the shit out of the bolts and expected much worse, 13 hours would lead to thrown tools.

Holy shit, 13 hours? I'm the most butter fingered example of Murphy's Law in every sense, so I'm sure it would take me 4 days. Haha

Local performance shop charges 1.75 hours...so 2 hours to install so basicly $200. I think I'll go that route save myself the pain. I have been known to get a little rammy if things don't go smooth. Once I had to get half my fuel lines replaced on my jeep from my attempt at changing a fuel filter

I paid a shop 190 to re install my stock dp. They fucked every heatshield bolt in the process so for the most part that's why it took so long. Otherwise may not have been as bad. I pb blasted every bolt day before but they were still ridiculously tight and partially rounded off.

^ This. And the only bolt that might be difficult is the bottom front bolt on the downpipe. You will probably want a swivel for that one.

On a brighter note, if you can complete a dp install you can do just about anything to this car.

Not sure about vvt install but most other things are a walk in the park.
Just completed installing springs with zero failure.

Not sure i would want to deal with VVT, but the down pipe was more difficult then the FMIC. all that is left is BT and CBE.

Same here, just cbe and bt left as far as HP is concerned. Don't see myself going bt however, and stock cat back is sufficient so might just put some nice tips on it and call it good.

Actually now that I think about it pulling the mani off doesn't seem too pleasant either but can't be that bad. I needs tig's, occ and egr delete.

I remember the first time I did mine... Fucking hell. Ruined my primary 02, had to stock out for dealership to repair it. then when I got the new 02 sensor back in, I had to re do the Dp install lol. Ive done it so many times now that I have a pretty good system and can install one in about 1.5 hours with a lift and pneumatic tools, ratcheting box ends, an a 6 pack. still hate doing it though.

The throttle body gasket is cake. I just did that and coolant bypass. I was actually surprised how well it affected my bat's. The egr is a BITCH. The nut right at the tb is on there stupid hard. Took a mallet to get that bitch loose. Occ, if you get frustrated quick, MD has you covered. He's including a fitting where you can use the stock hose. Leave the pcv fitting alone and just connect stocker to new hose.
