Tl;dr Miata drivers are faggots.

Well driving home tonight after taking my step son to see my parents, I'm driving down the road when a Miata driver tries to brake check me. I'm 2-3 car lengths back, because it's damp out and I dont like to ride the ass of a piece of shit car with my step son in the car. Well dude brake checks me twice, so I flick my hi-beams. This faggot stops in the middle of the road, climbs his 5 foot ass out of his Miata and proceeds to walk towards my car. First thought is get out and beat the shit out of this kid and go on with my life. But my wife being in a custody battle, and a whole line of witnesses behind me, I stay in the car and keep my cool. Had I been by myself and no one near me I would have pushed this faggots shit in.

My question to you guys, if this shit were to happen again and some one stopped in the middle of a one lane road, and they touched me or my vehicle, is it self defense if I beat the shit out of them?

People are so stupid sometimes. They forget other drivers carry weapons. Someone local to me actually just died in a bad car accident from some asshole brake checking him on the highway. The brake checker is still at large.

Times like this where I am VERY glad I drive a fast enough car to speed around them and return the favor. If you brake check me, I take it as a threat to my life and passengers lives.

FWIW I don't think this thread should be aimed at Miata drivers alone, but anyone who thinks it's funny or amusing to do something so stupid. I understand sometimes other cars will get close to me, but no reason to purposely try to cause an accident. IMO brake checking someone is more wreckless than speeding or just about anything else. Yet you see all the slow fucks and so called "good" drivers are the one doing this shit more than anyone else.

Nothing gets my blood boiling than someone who brake checks me. Especially when I have my daughter in the car. Makes me want to kill.

I got out of the car for the first time in years about 3 weeks ago for something very similar.

IMO, if you have no place to go, and the other guy is close enough to cause damage to your property, you have to defend what is yours.

... He chased me for 45 minutes before finally turning back. I ended up running something like 10-15 redlights b/c he kept getting out and trying to punch out my windows in the city.

Anyways, fuck that... and double-fuck that if I have a son whether he's in my car or home in bed.

My accelerator pump was bad so every time I'd try to go around him and he'd pull out to make me slam on the brakes, my car would stall. I waited 15-20 minutes for someone to drive by and yelled out my window several times... including telling him what I'd do before doing it.

unless the driver gives you no way out , touches you or came out with a weapon , you can use self defense other wise just get his plate number and call it in to the local pd. You'd be just as guilty as the asshole that jumped out of his car you might not get much more then simple or aggravated assault but it's still not worth it.

Knowing my car could stop short of an old ass miata with paint chipping and wheels sticking out like a fucking Mexican lowrider, 2-3 car lengths is plenty of room to not be riding his ass. It doesn't matter if someone is inches from your bumper, brake checking is stupid and dangerous. And the whole, "you were tail-gating, so you deserved someone threatening your life!" is even more juvenile. If you don't like how close someone is, ease off the throttle until they have no choice but to pass. Or, if it's a no-passing zone, deal with it. 1 car length for every 10mph. People never follow this and it pisses the fuck outta me.
