All stock parts with a protune @ 19psi my HPFP was shitting bricks. You could probably do intake/tip and be fine on Gen 2. Anything after that will likely send you over the edge.

Well enjoy your ticket I'm nineteen, go over 100 mph regularly and speed the rest of the time don't need the extra trouble over darker window tint so if you wanna be an asshole go do it somewhere else. In regards to the fuel pump I'm thinking I'm going to wait for CS to come out with theirs it's supposed to be significantly cheaper than CP-E with no core return (like to keep stock parts just in case)

on gen2's your safe with an intake and maybe a rp, but if you tune, its all over. our fp cant keep up with boost targets on ots maps, unless you get a safe one. i suggest getting kmd or autotech internals, or get a cp-e pump if youve got the cash. i just got an ultra gauge to monitor fuel pressure, just pay really close attention when modding.
Yeah going to do a fuel pump before any other power mods just waiting for one that isn't like 1000 dollars then a core refund would prefer to keep my stock parts just in case...

CBE may be more of a gain for genpu than for gen1. Nataphen was getting some pretty good g/s with his only mod being the CBE

Its the same engine and pretty much same components. the suspension is even the same. So majority of the infor for the gen1 applies to the gen2s.

OP save your money and get an AP, you will notice a more of a difference with that then an exhaust. Then save for your hpfp/internals. And then you have everything you need to start modding.

The Gen2 exhaust is less restrictive then the Gen1 exhaust, if I recall. (larger diameter)

And Nataphen's gains were originally from a protune. The exhaust was only after the fact, and I doubt it added anything worth measuring.

Nataphen's results I was referencing were from him adjusting the OTS tune for his car himself.
He was seeing 270 g/s with only an exhaust.
People with intakes were usually getting 250.

And while the piping may be larger, the muffler may be more restrictive.

Autotech internals are great, mine have been in for a week now. KMD had them in now too. They are worth the money, and install is straightforward. Be sure you have a vise and big torque wrench/breaker bar. Read install directions from several sources carefully.

so your 19 and regularly speeding in the triple digit, and your worried about a tint "fix it" ticket? Its like "oh fuck i just got caught going 100mph, the cop better not tell me to remove my tint". That would be the least of your worries. Some tint shop will actually remove it for free if you get a ticket for it.

You do not need a big torque wrench. A torque wrench should not be used as a breaker bar either.

Sry, didn't mean as breaker, but for hitting 40 ft-lbs when reinstalling.

MN tint shops cannot legally put heavier tint on a vehicle unless you have a prescription for it it's a misdemeanor for them to do that law passed in aug 2010 and that's what a radar detector is for to avoid cops

You can't have anything hanging off your windshield in MN either, so make sure your detector is mounted some other way.

having tint in MN is a misdemeanor seriously? Having weed 1oz. and under isn't even a misdemeanor in cali anymore lol (intent to sell is a different story).

cops don't need to clock you for racing or speeding to give you a ticket ... it just helps them in court if you try to fight it.

No it's a misdemeanor for the tint shop to put heavier than 50% of tint on your car in MN without a prescription

Radar detectors are a joke too, if you are relying on that I am waiting for the "I got arrested for driving 155 in a 55" thread.

They will get you though. Detectors only work when the cop has their radar on (duh).
Last time I got hit was bc a cop didn't have his radar on and flipped it right when I went by.
I have noticed that some of the state troopers here in both NE and IA have figured it out, and are doing it more and more.

IOKA - Instant On KA band radar. It's all the rage on Interstates here in Louisiana. That's why I try to follow the "rabbit" philosophy: in areas where you know IOKA is likely to be, don't go over 10mph over limit unless you're following another speeder. When they get hit with IOKA, your Escort will give you enough time to hit the brakes while they get the ticket.

Surprisingly little laser here. But damn, the passport 9500 freaks out when you get hit. "LASER ALERT!"

Here's a quick lesson for all you genpu noobs. It's the same goddamn engine as the first gen, if you need to know how to do something, all you need to do is look at the first gen for anything engine related... CRI, TIP, HPFP, even intercooler installs, your piping will be different but the philosophy is exactly the same. It's not that challenging, you ought to know already we have the same MZR engine that you genpu's have, so it should be a no brainer.

We have a CDFP (already discussed), that's a CAM DRIVEN (key words) fuel pump... obviously, it's going to be sitting on the side of your block. Do some searching for HPFP installs and you have your answer. Hell, for something like my fuel pump I didn't feel like doing it alone... paid a friend of my sister's who owns his own shop and he finished it for me in less than an hour... first time he ever did the HPFP on a Speed3.

FP will crap out (more notable in genpu's) with bolt ons! Mine didn't crap out until I was fully bolted except for the turbo mani, and then I contacted CP-e, got really lucky and had one the next week. Mind you, I have a first gen, from all I've seen the genpu's have this issue a lot quicker.

The biggest thing you guys need to know is SEARCH. SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH. This has all been said in this thread before, but I'm saying it again because we keep seeing the same questions. The only reason I looked into this thread was because I JUST got my fuel pump installed last week, and wanted to see what input I had... but this is kinda ridiculous.
