oh okay, sorry I thought you meant no load on the rear tires. I'll try and get some ramps for the install.

I'd suggest getting a pair of Race Ramps. They're a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. I just recently got a set and I was impressed with the quality. Some people that I know have other brands car ramps and they don't look as solid.

You have a set? Hmm, when can I borrow them? ;)

Well, when do you need them? I'd be down to let you use them and be an extra set of hands for you.

Oh yeah, also I just ordered some Autotech internals and the AP from Edgeautosport. Hopefully they'll get here sooner than later.

I bought some of these a few days ago at my local auto parts store. They're very highly rated and only cost 50 bucks after tax so I'm happy.

They fit under my rear tires like a glove, plenty of clearance to get the car up and down without hitting anything. To use them on the fronts I'll have to use them at a slight incline but that's fine with me.

I'm waiting on Jamie for my new parts. He said he will e-mail me this week when he's got some bars in stock.

Well whenever I get a free weekend and my car back from the body shop I will put on a new front splitter.

You want to carpool to NATOR this weekend?

I was actually looking in getting those exact same ramps but I figured since I'm going to be lowering my car eventually, i might as well get some ramps I know will fit under my car when it is finally lowered.

Alright cool... What's happening this weekend? A NATOR meet I'm guessing? I thought you guys meet on Wednesday night's, or is that something else?

This is an official SoCal NATOR meet.

The Wednesday thing is just local.

Those Rhino Ramps are useless for the front of our cars, even at stock height.

@rustysurfsa; are you and your lady going?

Ahhh I see, that sounds pretty cool. I'd probably only go Saturday though. Need to check and see if I have anything conflicting with this but I definitely want to check this out. I'll get back to you and confirm.

Yeah the front of my car was way to low for these to work on flat ground but my garage and driveway do kind of a reverse V at the entrance, allowing me to use these normally.

Unfortunately I'm out of town this weekend and pretty much every weekend until the end of July. It's wedding season! and apparently every person I know is getting hitched this summer. Why does everyone have to get married the same damn time. :chairshot:

Well we could install your internals there, haha. I was planning on hanging out for a few hours on saturday.

Yeah that's true. I hope I get them before Saturday but I doubt they'll get here that fast. What time do you want to get there and what time you want to leave?

If they ship via priority mail, you should get your stuff by friday. I am down for whatever time. I would like to avoid traffic though. :)

Sweet! Crossing my fingers for Friday! Yeah the earlier the better. I'll let you know for sure what's going on by tomorrow.

EDIT: Just heard back from Alan at Edge Autosport and I might receive the AP this Friday if not Monday but I will have to wait a few weeks for the internals :grumpy:. Oh well, at least now I'll have a way of monitoring my fuel pressure and maybe get a safe tune until the internals arrive.

I think so. I don't have any experience with them or know anyone who has but here's a thread of a guy who says they're amazing, here on MSF.

http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...ilovers-91449/

He even has the same color Pu as you.

If the deal is really that great I say go for it.

Well I have a rental car for 2 more weeks. I am gonna try to get a more economical car tomorrow or friday. I might have to stop in Irvine to pick up some stuff.

We can still carpool, lol. I will be at the Target Meet by the Balboa exit tonight.

Oh okay cool. I'll go to the meet tonight, can only stay for about an hour and a half. Still got a early morning shift at work which kills me if if I don't get enough sleep, lol.

:wizard:<--- unrelated to my post but still cool.

Just a thought. I did some spirited driving with a pu I met on the 405 yesterday after work. I never notice how ugly the stock exhaust is while driving. The guy driving the pu obviously has never cleaned his tips but damn they were ugly and small. Really make me want to get rid of mine. I may just sell the HKS coilovers I bought and buy an Ultimate Racing cat back instead.

Well as far as performance goes, all the aftermarket ones are roughly the same. The only real difference is the sound and the look of the tips. If you want to go ghetto, just get a resonator delete and have some fancy 3" tips welded on from the muffler. Any local muffler shop worth a fuck should be able to handle that.

[R]usty 05-16-2013 02:23 PM

Ordered my sway bar from Jamie. My girlfriend agreed to do the install video. Stay tuned.

I want new tips because the stockers don't protrude far enough and they blow shit all over my hatch. The guys with CBEs didn't seem to have nearly the soot issue, but maybe that's because they are tuned and not spitting out so much unburnt fuel. Dunno, but it's on my list of stuff to do.

Well longer tips help. Our cars run pig rich so the black soot is normal.

Yeah the stock tips are just awful. I clean them and my bumper once a week with tire cleaner. Running rich has it's flaws.

Was changing the oil in my girlfriends Mazda 3 S and I noticed an accumulation of oil at the back of the engine near the head gasket. No spill over of oil or valve cover leaks it's definitely coming from between the head and block towards cylinder 1 and 2. It looks like it's time to take it to Mazda for a warranty service (probably a new head gasket and resurface). What dealer do you guys recommend for service like this? Most dealers have shitty reviews so I want to pick the best place. The car was originally purchased from Huntington Beach Mazda. Their online reviews are really good, should I drive it all the way over there?

I heard Galpin in Valencia was decent. The rest of the dealers within 50 miles suck a big fatty.

I'm probably going to go the ghetto route. Since a CBE does little but sound, I'd rather spend 400+ on other performance mods.

Well you could always pick up another stock midpipe cat from someone cheap and I doubt the exhaust shop would charge much. I would shop around for a set of 3" tips that you might like. We can knock the midpipe cat out and have it back on in about an hour and a half.

Hour and a half, Nice! Removing a cat requires a tune right? i should be getting my AP in the mail soon.

Well it needs internals first. Once you have those and the AP, we can gut the midpipe and put you on a Ghetto Stage 2 OTS Map. :)

Got my HKS Hipermax Sport V Coilovers... They're beautiful...:arms:

Wish I could keep them but they're a bad choice for my driving situation. They drop my car to low and I'd much rather have an exhaust and sway bar. Here's some pictures. The fronts are beefy. Going to list them for sale on the forum tonight.
