It's interesting how the ST is EPA-rated at 23/32 (26 combined), and the MS3 is EPA-rated at 18/25... but consumer reports gave the MS3 an ACTUAL fuel economy rating of 18/34 (and 26 combined!)

Also, based on what most of you on here have found, actual fuel economy mixed-driving average is bang on with what consumer reports said (around 26)... I don't know what was going on when the EPA rated the MS3, but I think they need to redo it.

All,
Comparing mpg figures to each other makes even less sense on this platform, with the turbo and all. Most of the Cobb AP stage x tunes will improve your mileage.

I get between 3 and 34mpg. A few nights ago I had it up to 145mph again and I was calculating 3mpg on the in-dash. The gearing sucks on this car for top-end. It hits 145mph real fast in 6th gear (which is right around 6,000rpms) but just seems to hit a wall. Surely it will go faster but damn K04 really halts it at 145mph. I bet with simply a taller 6th gear (which would put 6,000rpms around 160mph), it would go 160mph. The torque isn't lacking. It's the powerband/gearing that keeps it from really hauling ass above 145-150mph ish.

Normally, I get between 17 and 31 mpg, IN GENERAL. There are so many factors.

Wanna save gas?
- Get a good tune
- inflate those tires
- Stay out of boost. Always keep it at 0 or under (even though you still get a bit of a whistle :-) )
- Coast to stops with car in gear as long as possible.
- Use the brake pedal as little as possible. Every time you use the brake pedal, its the same as saying you were going too fast before. So slow down, give a little more distance between you and the guy in front (mostly applies to stop and go traffic)
- Trail big rigs but no more than about 75 ft behind them. They'll suck you along for the ride.
- Skip gears. Go 1, 3, 6 when possible and get into 6th as quickly as possible.

Mods (in order of significance): Cobb AccessPort, Autotech CDFP upgrade (thanks Captain KR for your assisstance), Cobb SF SRI Intake, Ultimate Racing cat and resonator-less test pipe, Cobb Turbo Inlet Hose, Cobb Knob, Cobb 300g shifter weight

Tune: My own (based on the v210 and v231 Cobb OTS maps but ramped way up)

Street creds:
- Fastest known K04/93 MS3/driver with only an AP, CDFP upgrade, intake, and tune | 13.37@106.83mph on stock Dunlops (2.04 sec 60' time, full curb weight, 75*F ambient temp)
- Has gone an indicated 146mph on three occasions now.

Yes I will help you tune your K04/pump gas car; I have much less experience than the major players but I also charge you $0 and can turn you around quickly. 4 satisfied customers and counting...
