then why would you ask why you lost in a race when you have no idea what he's done to this own rex, and a real answer - learn how to drive your car like you stole it or get sympathy and be told it wasnt your fault he has meth and tune(which can be lies). find out what he has, rerace and end of story. if not, take the loss like a man and deal with it. after your tune you'll see an improvement.

| Not Ranked : 0 score What's really incredible is that the WRX didn't pull more than 3 car lengths at 60 mph, combination of the new WRX's having a solid engine and tune (they make more power atw than a stock Gen1 MS3...and they're AWD), and your car running horribly. Also, the new WRX's have GDI and a small turbo just like us...which means they have legit torque and fast response, even at low RPM's, just like we do. I bet the reason your car is hesitating is a combination of the WMI and the step colder plugs. I bet if you pulled your plugs, they'd be all carboned up from not getting hot enough. You realize that literally the primary purpose of using WMI is to allow you to run more boost and (mainly) ignition timing, right? And that's what you haven't done. And at Cobb OTS boost levels with an upgraded intercooler and WMI, your BAT's are probably literally less than half of what mine are with the stock intercooler running 20 psi. I'm running stock plugs! What do you vdyno at (4th gear, flat road)? Do you even take logs regularly? Maybe you should start doing that! But yeah, don't know what else to say that hasn't been said here already!

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I am not running meth i have it installed but it is disconnect because i know i need a tune before i spray. This is not a troll just was wondering what was going on. I am running a stage 2 ots tune from cobb right now, if i wasn't then i would not have installed all of these parts. I have been a member since 2012 but i am just now getting all my upgrades. Like i said before i have a tune slot lined up just waiting to get the tune now. I was not but hurt i know how it is on forums, everyone has their own opinion and we are all blunt. This is not my first time. Yes i was getting rockets shot at me and that is why i was not able to get all my stuff installed and tuned. But i look forward to the flame it lets me know who i am dealing with. Glad you all got a laugh out of this and thanks to the ones that actually care about other member success in builds. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score those cobb ots tunes fucking suck if you don't have the tuning knowledge to modify them on your own. i tried one of their stage II tunes ages ago and experienced the most violent boost cut under hard acceleration. almost shit myself. it's way more fun to get an adrenaline boner because of the smooth and intense power delivery you'll experience with a proper tune.

| Not Ranked : 0 score there are a bunch of options. stratified, freektune, purple drank, richtune, hypnotic, and some others. probably many others. research it before you purchase and go with who you decide you're comfortable with. whoever you choose, you win. you'll notice stratified will discount the cost of your ots tune if you purchase a full tune from them within a certain time frame. they employ varying strategies as far as how your car is tuned, but again, it's all winning. research them, email them with questions, trust them with your tuning cherry and allow them to pop it.

I'd be willing to bet the guys you two raced were not very modded. Both of these WRX's are full bolt ons and protuned, and appear to have decent drivers. Again, I'm not sure if they were on pump or E85. Both of them are complete liars, but I saw one of their dynos on a "post your dyno" thread on FB for our local street racing scene. I'd have to look at it again but I'm certain that it was 320s and 350s torque. Most people are just bullshit mods and tunes, so I'm not surprised when I hear stories like yours. I'm just saying, they're a lot faster than you think. You just haven't been mixed up with the right ones. I've raped a lot of cars, and out of all of them, those 2 were quite eye opening and had me rethinking what I thought I knew about the WRXs. Run into one that's serious about going fast, and isn't just a typical broru owner, and you might end up getting drug down the highway for underestimating him.

But on topic, OTS tunes suck, especially if you have anything more than an intake, you're really hurting the cars performance more than anything. There is a kid in the area bolted k04 (except IM/EM) running a shitty Cobb OTS S2+ tune or whatever it is. I offered to tune him many times, for free like other people I've tuned have down here, and he always refused saying he is getting pro tuned. This happened literally about a year ago, still running the OTS tune, and is having problems quite often I hear.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Damn. The only WRX that ever pulled on me was modded the hell out and I was stock at the time. If I can keep up with a 2015 Sti with an ots tune and a driver mod you should be able to get a wrx. But I'm not one to talk, got smacked by a sleeper turbo integra a few weeks ago |

| Not Ranked : 0 score What fmic how big is the core? I know they can cause a bit of boost drop/ lag mainly of not spooled I'm no expert but maybe you have a boost leak check all your hoses and clamps. Also are you running the stage 2 or 3 map from cobb currently?

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I am running a Treadstone TR8 FMIC. I just installed my map from stratitfied and it is awesome its hard to get use to the flat foot shifting. My car drives a lot smoother now and it is faster. I will get a custom tune in a couple weeks. Thank you all for your help. |
