Gen1 flywheel on a Gen2?
 

So I want to just install a factory weighted flywheel on the car with the new clutch. Ive gained possesion of an 09' MZR flywheel, for free, to have resurfaced. Im going this route so the tranny will be out of the vehicle for the minimum amount of time possible by having one already resurfaced and ready for install.

Will the 09' flywheel mate up to my 11' MZR?

The GenPu Flywheel part number is identical to the GenJuan: L304-16-610E

Unfortunately, Ive had second thoughts, after reading, and decided to stick with installing the matching Spec flyhweel. It'll be a great deal lighter; almost too light... but I'll feel more at ease knowing that a new, matching, part will be bolted up.

won't a lighter one give you better throttle response and less clutch wear? I mean I don't know too much about flywheels but I would have assumed you would want a lighter one...

Better response yes. Less clutch wear is dependent on clutch material mostly. A really light flywheel will chatter
