Default genpu fmic upgrade

Im planning on doing a fmic soon on the 2010 genpu. Will the hood scoop funnel in rain and leave it sitting right in the valley of my valve cover? Im not really to excited for that. Anyone got any cool ideas of what to do or what they have done. Post some pics if you can

I joined this forum when I got my speed at the end of December. I've posted very little because I've been READING/SEARCHING and It has answered nearly all my questions. But I've seen this same thread started by 3 different people in the past 2 months. "Won't rain get all over my motor when It rains?? Ahhh water"
Yes, yes it will. Think of it as a free motor wash. Watch the weather and before it rains dump soap and degreaser all over your motor then go drive around! Great idea right?!😛

Just fyi, when you drive, your motor does this magical thing, it gets hot. When water hits hot surfaces it does that weird thing called evaporating. You have nothing to worry about man...

A regular 3 hood will not fit a speed. Thanks for coming out.

Op, @rfinkle2; had a spark issue in this very situation.
Water had gotten all the way down into the plug wells.
Maybe he can shed some light?

How much PLASTIC could you possibly remove to notice any sort of weight loss?

Op, @rfinkle2; had a spark issue in this very situation.
Water had gotten all the way down into the plug wells.
Maybe he can shed some light?
If you look @ the engine / valve cover, you'll notice that there is a small relief hole to let any pooling water drain on the drivers side of the plug well recess. This is dandy if your car happens to lean that way and water is cooperative.

I noticed on my car that there are significantly more deposits where the water had pooled and evaporated on the left side of the engine, opposite of the way the engine is designed.

This (what Tokay mentioned) happened to me when it rained like hell and I had about an hour drive. I couldn't believe it, but @ wot, my car was hesitating and misfiring.

I pulled the plugs and damn if there wasn't a small pool of h20 in the leftmost 2 plug wells, and went I pulled the plugs out, it seeped down into the threads and must've been interfering with the plug firing.

I have since added an 0-ring outside of the raised portion on the valve cover. It sits inside the plug boot but outside that raised portion in the hopes of keeping the h20 out.

I haven't had it happen since.

Plastic obviously has mass, but enough pertaining to the hood to boast about weight loss?

I had my hood scoop opened for over a year with 0 issues. I was more worried someone being a asshole and reaching in there and yanking wires loose.

You guys don't owe me a thing.

I usually drink about a 12 pack of pepsi max a day. (I know it probably is not great for my health).

I sure hope Pepsi never stops making Pepsi Max.

I saw that. 2 gallons = 256 oz.

12 @ 12 oz cans = 144 ounces.

I have some Pepsi to drink!

J/k/ man I appreciate your concern.
