Genpu vs G37s

[JS + MS3]

One of my douchebag friends always brag about his G37s coupe 6MT. He always says his car is faster than most of the cars on the road, and probably faster than mine too. I just laughed it off before, but I was wondering if we have any chance of beating them in straightline.

Did you guys have any experience against them?

Please let's not make this as a VERSUS thread. I'm just curious if any of you have raced these cars before. I like my car and I think G37s are pretty good cars.

Most of the 0-60 and quarter-mile times I have seen (from review testing, mostly) are pegged like .3-.5 secs faster than our Genpus. So in stock form, it's really driver mod that'll make the difference. But since you're not stock, you have the advantage, unless that G37 has its share of bolt-ons and driver mod as well.

His car is bone stock and the driver mod... not so sure. He's one of those douchebag looking kid who can be found in G37s and 3-series. LOL

Ive had zero issues with g37s. They carry the same 332 hp engine thats in the 370z nissan.

But unlike the 370z, they weight around 3700lb. so you got him by 500lb. most stock g37s will put down 275-290 whp. Your genpu is intake+testpipe and a you got cobb AP, so your running a ots stage 1 map I assume? Who knows...but your probaly around 250 ish whp?

I would say on a 3rd-4th gear roll you should pull on him, be kinda close. But from a dig, you might get in trouble if hes not a total fucktard.

Yeah, my power mods are intake+testpipe with AP. I guess hpfp internal is a supporting mod. My fp does stay above 1800psi under WOT. I'm tuned by Nataphen. Stage 2 map with a lot of revisions for the past 3 months. I'm done with fueling and boosting. Targeting 18.5 and tapering down to 17.

So, I guess I should go try it out, if it can be pretty even.

It's going to be a roll on highway, if it's anything.

Hhhmm hard to say with mods involved. My friend has a 350z HR and we didn't exactly race but we did do a pull the other day and he pulled away from me very easily. Granted he was in it before I was and I also had the wife in the car amoung other things. But I was alittle suprised how easily he pulled away.

If he is stock, it should be more of a drivers race than anything. Then again there is only one way to find out. Just be safe.

a roll you should have him easily, especially if brake boosting. When i had intake/ap/cbe i rolled a g37 by 2-3 cars from a sushi roll.

from a dig would be a good run, he would launch on you and than you would start to reel him in.

I've only raced a 4 door g37 but I was able to pull on him from about 35-110, maybe half a car in between us. They have really good throttle response, he got a good jump from when we took off but I reeled him back in and passed him up.

I pulled on a 370z from 40-110.....But not by much more than a car.

Thats their sweet spot like ours......Don't be surprised if you get beat is all I'm saying...If they can drive they will be right next to you.

why can't i ask a question on the board? isn't that the point of having a community forum?

i try not to street races nowadays because i had some bad experiences from when i was young. i was just curious, if others had some experience with G37s. that's all.

i actually don't mind losing because it serves as a good excuse for myself to get more mods. and i never engage in those races that i know for sure i'm going to win. like those ricers in the Si.

It's down to the driver.
I raced a modded g35 before, not the same as g37 but it'll give you an idea.
From a dig he had me no matter what. Might be a different story now with a real RMM and launch control.
From a roll there didn't seem to be much difference between us. Once boost hit I got the jump and stayed there.

My wife has a '08 G37 S , I drive it all the time. Stock for stock, a MS3 will lose.

I owned a 08 G37s stick. They move out quickly for a heavy car. I wouldn't bet against one. I don't know what AP does for a speed though so you may have a chance.

I fucked with one this morning with genpu bone stock. From a dig it was ugly.....spin thump wheel hop more spin tailights.....ugly. I need a RMM....bad. From about 30 he got a jump but genpu kept up but I never ran him down. I was thinkig WTF was that sedan? Next stop light I saw it was a G37. Traction with stock skins sucks!

It's a safety feature after the whole "my Toyota won't stop" thing. Most companies are programming a logic in the ECU that makes the brake pedal override the gas pedal. There's a thread around here somewhere.

Ya cause I tried it the other day and with the Break pedal pressed even slightly the gas will not work. Is there any way of removing this or anything?

Also i have heard its possible to do it with the E-Brake. Yes? No?

he is running stage two genius. OP race him and let us know, there is a G37 I have been thinking about running in the morning on the way to work and I'm curious how it pans out for you.
