getting bored of the genpu Hi mazdaspeed forums. so just wanted to see if anyone else has felt the same as I do. The speed seems really slow to me. Granted that all I have is corksport single exit with their Dp, Cobb Cai and tune. But still seems slow terribly slower compared to my k swap civic hatch. I'm thinking of just trading it in for a 13+ coyote. Was fun for a couple months but can't help but feel like the amount of money needed to make this car alot more enjoyable would be better spent with more suitable platform. Has anyone felt this way? How to rekindle that spark like the first time driving It? still a brownie on here, best way to sell Other than mazdaspeed forums? Thou |
Or you could swap in a BNR s3 since it bolts to all the stuff you have and pump out a good chunk more of power. Simple and less than a down payment on a new mustang. |

Sounds like someone needs to either adjust their goals or their expectation of the speed 3. |

What power is the K motor pushing right now? Those hatches are so much lighter than our cars, especially the Mustang. Do you not have the Honduh anymore? |

So you purchased the speed 3 knowing it wasn't designed for that and I am assuming you were already enlisted as well? The 5.0's are nice and all but shit I would miss the hatch and back seats with rear doors. Plus the lower car payment and slightly better fuel economy. Oh and the annoying drone those 5.0's have while cruising would definitely make me miss the speed3. |

5.0 will be for sure my next, you should trade the speed for one their potential is ridiculous! good luck |

Must be a GenPu thing. 8 1/2 years, still love my Speed. |
Love my speed and dont plan on parting with it. Never thought of trading it away either. I've owned it for just about 7yrs and I still do double takes as I walk away from it at a parking spot. Check out my mod list in signature, with a bunch of mods it makes this car a blast to drive. Best part is there is so much evolution going on for this car with new parts coming out, the upgrades are VERY affordable and there are becoming a ton of options. When I bought my car back in 2008 I could only choose from CP-E or Cobb and it was expensive to mod. If I chose to get rid of my car I would get a new 5.0 for an NA vehicle. |
so a faster car will solve youre inferiority complex for how long? thats what you should ask yourself. |
If you're looking to get into the 11's with your car, it is possible...even on the stock turbo. What tune are you running? |
I love my gen 2 but honestly would rather have a gen 1 or speed 6. If I were to pick a high horsepower car I would like it to be awd. Traction limitations in fwd and rwd vehicles suck :( |
my friend had a 11 PU, trade her in for a 2015 5.0, he has full exhaust and that's it, I`m BNR S3 and i rape him on e85, even on 93 we go head to head, then he pulls once we get on higher speeds... Is a great car but he averages 13mpg and i drove it and it feels like a boat, maybe because im so used to my car, its a solid and good looking car tho, if i had no kids id drive one, he is thinking of SC it, then i will be a rape for my pu =\ |

Mazda needs to hurry up and release the new Speed 3. I'm getting the itch for something new. |
I love my pu and can't wait for a bnrs3 it will be a force to reckon but the 5.0 is just getting started with bolt ons people twin turbo those bastards and daily it. Recently for stock block and stock trans hit 8.68 for the 5.0 ridiculous. Straight line this car is the bang for buck devil imo |

Sold my mildly modded '12 Brembo GT for the '13 pu. The Mustang was just what I wanted at the time, but needs changed and I required more utility and practicality. It was a good car, no issues in 2 years, 16.5-17.5 mpg (3.31 gear) in the city, never had it on the highway much. Handled well, good brakes, stiffer ride than the Speed and you can definitely feel the extra 500 lbs everywhere. It's a fairly large car compared to the pu. But man that motor is the shit. Love to drop one of those into my Fox body someday. If you get an auto, throw a TVS on there and run 10s with a tune and tires |
About to hit 2 years with mine. Still puts a smile on my face every single day. Its not the fastest thing in the world by any means, but for the money its a perfect car. I thought about a mustang. I love the new body style, but I am not paying 40k for a Mustang. Dad has had his MS6 for 8 1/2 years. He wont get rid of it till he finds something just as quick/comfortable. |
I traded my 12 ms3 for a mustang and I still talk about the mazda all the time. The Mustangs power is addictive but the shifter sucks, suspension sucks. Pretty much it's a great engine wrapped in a sub par package that looks awesome. I have spent lots of money trying to get the fun to drive feeling of the speed3 In the mustang. It is grades above what it was when I first got it but still doesn't handle as well as the speed. If I had it to do over I'd have probably kept the speed for a little longer. But The redneck in me wanted the mad power. |
