God damn do I put on some mileage!!
 

So I bought my MS3 this past Feb and tomorrow I will be rolling over 16,000 miles! There was a few lengthy trips in there but mostly it's my commute to work, 55 miles each way literally ALL highway! I live 2 miles from Interstate 95 and work 5 min off I95. Adds up to 500 miles a week! I change the oil every 4-5k with Rotella T6.

I'm about to start modding as you can see in my sig. Am I shooting myself in the foot or will I be good to go with the DI engine? I'm going to install an OCC and EGR delete to help preserve the valves.

I don't know if it matters but I typically just set the cruise at 75-77 mph. My car Truely is an all highway milage car. Looking for any advice from any of the tuners on here about anything else I can do to keep the car running long and healthy.

I will be at this job for 2 more years so it's safe to assume I will be around 45k miles by then and fully bolted.

My car is my daily, I commute like a bastard 6 days a week. I started modding in April, fully bolted by June. Whoever tunes you will make you love driving it more on the hwy. trust me on this.

jesus fuck... i put on about 600 miles a month now that i work out of town.

I got 15000 since march... But mostly a 50 mile round trip on weekdays to work...

Got mine in Feb, have about 10.5k. Ive been trying not to drive as much lately, dont want to rack them up too fast.

Jeez, you y'all put some miles on your cars. Im only at 8k, got it June 1. Unfortunately maybe only half is true highway.

10300 miles had it since late July of this year.

Bought it with 13.5k in...March? or Early April...just rolled over 26k. ~446 miles a week....

Commute to work is only 20 miles there/back all highway and I carpool often....I just can't keep myself out of the driver's seat :)


*EDIT* Found my intro thread, got it in the middle of March which translates into ~417 miles a week.

We have a customer with a 2010 CX-7 (turbo) with 155,000 miles. He's a courier for some company and drives across country every day.

His transmission took a shit though.. I can't imagine he has paid the loan off yet. Sucks.

I'm at 17000 got it in Feb. Not uncommon these days.

Highway miles are far easier on the engine than short hop miles.

OP you could always get a beater to commute back and forth to work, if you wanted to keep the miles low on the MS3

I hear you it's just how I do it. Had my car a little over a year and I am sitting at 25,000.

Bought mine mid-October and so far I have put around 3k miles on it, probably average around 15-20k a year if It wasn't for the other vehicles. The bike has over 4500 miles on it and I bought it brand new last year (leftover), believe it or not I haven't even gotten to ride nearly as much as I had wanted to this year.

All in all, over the course of a year I personally drive/ride probably somewhere around 35-45k miles a year, mostly on back roads, forgotten (2 lane, no guardrail) state highways and Amish roads.

Bought mine feb of 2011. Currently have 502xx. Went big turbo at 34xxx

Have a similar commute as you do, 50 miles each way (Mahopac NY to Shelton CT). My first mod went on at about 2k and it's been tracked since 1k. I'm currently at 109k and haven't had too many problems. Hell I'm still on the original turbo.

Mod the car, get a tune, try and enjoy 95 as best you can....

I got the car sept 2010, with 48K miles, and now I'm at 90K :D I fuckin love it!...

Only recently purchased mine (couple months, now?). It had 13k when I bought it and I've put just shy of 2k on it since then.

My daily commute is only about 7 miles each way. Great for running late, not so great when you really want to enjoy the car.

I don't really commute too often but I take a load of trips out of state. So far this year I've been to Florida, Main, Boston, DC, the Adirondack mountains, and Ohio. All on the speed. This keeps the miles racking up.

Nov 2012 and 13.000 miles sofar. Those miles are tought because use the car for auto-x and track day most of time.

However my car saw a full TBE at 5000 miles.

Got mine around August of this year with 2 miles on it, so far it has about 6,000 miles and I am getting ready to drive from eastern North Carolina to Puyallup Washington in about 2 weeks lol. I have been wanting to already start modding mine but everytime I get close the money magically disappears

at the rate... in every year im probably gonna do about 30k and have 150k by the time i pay the car off... FML

Bought mine in April 2011 w/ 29k on it... I'm at 72k right now :(

2700 since October 19th. Guess that would come out to around 16k per year or so?
