Going stock for dealer visits

I currently have a Sure Aeros and I am about to put the Sure flow test pipe and get my resonator deleted next week. I am also going to be getting an AP in a few months hopefully. But my question is when I go to the dealership will it damage my car in any way by making it stock and putting the mods on every time I make a visit? I go to the dealer for my oil changes. They do them for free. Im sorry if this was asked but I have been googling for a few days and looked on the forums I have not found anything that really answered this question.

The short answer: No
The long answer: Nope

Man there is no way I'd stock out every time I got my oil changed. Way too much work to save 30 bucks.

I went in the other day for my first oil change (They do the first for free) with the mods in my sig all on and they said nothing and there was nothing on the report I got after it was done.

I've checked with several dealers within a 2 hour range from me... none have any issues with exhaust and intake mods.

when i went to pepboys to get my oil changed they wanted $100 bucks.. I have no idea how much it will cost if I did it myself. But I will not pay $100 for an oil change when I can get it for free at the dealer haha.

When I bought my car the salesman said anything in front of the cat will void the warranty.

Salesman lied

There are a TON of ignorant idiots in this world sir.

I just went to the dealership last week for an oil change with the mods in my sig and they didnt say shit...They also replaced my airbag sensor under warranty, but that has nothing to do with the engine

Every dealership is different but with what you have I don't see them saying anything. Also your going in for a oil change so it doesn't matter now anyways, it's when you have to have warranty work done is when they would have to prove it and that is when you should stock out.

Yea when I went in I was like fuck that. Also at my dealership if I was to pay for it the price would be about $80-$90 I believe. I have no idea why its so much in my area.

OP have you ever considered doing it your self? And what kind of oil are they putting in your car? It's recommend to use synthetic oil....ya know

smurugby12 08-18-2012 07:28 AM

If I supply the oil and oil filter, it costs me $11.50 for the dealership to change it.

Pope 08-18-2012 07:39 AM

if your going to the dealer just for a oil change dont bother swapping

helmetface 08-18-2012 08:35 AM

Find a new dealership.

Do your own oil changes..it's a 20 min job and you know it's done 'right'

No one who isn't mentally challenged would pay that for just an oil change. They must be including other services, like an inspection, tire rotation, etc.

AegisKlein 08-18-2012 09:27 AM

Seriously, change your oil yourself. You might learn a little something about your car, and you will have control over what oil is actually put into your car. Just because you take your oil to the dealer, doesn't mean that's what is being put into your car.

I don't trust anyone (especially the dealer) with oil changes. My uncle is a dealership manager, and I've seen and heard too many horror stories to trust the underpaid grease monkeys that do the oil changes...not to mention pep boys or jiffy lube!

I'm just sayin'

christianc5692 08-18-2012 04:33 PM

I know how to do oil changes. I just get them for free as part of the deal for my car. I always get synthetic.
