@Raider. Correct me of I am wrong, again I won't pretend to be an expert here...

Isn't the core reason behind needing the internals with the TIP caused by the spikes in boost that are often related to it? If that's the case wouldn't a safe stage 1 tune, limiting the boost to say 16 psi remove the issue with over working the internals?

I guess what I am trying to get at is, I use the car to commute and I'm not lookin for huge power. I bough the intake/tip when i first got the car, and was told by Corksport I don't need internals, however they recommended the Cobb AP. I have no issue with getting internals but I'm trying to determine if they are truly needed with the limited increase in power I am lookin to add.

The internals keep the fuel pressure up. Without them it drops, no fuel=piston through block.

Ok I'm going to sound like a dick here but clearly I'm not getting anywhere.

Can someone please explain why it is the fuel pressure will drop when running the TIP and AP? Again i plan on running the stage 1 which I Beleive is limited to 16 psi.

I understand that increasing boost will cause strain in that the fp will need to supply more fuel. What I don't understand is how increasing boost 1 psi over stock with the stage 1 map will cause Boom...

I've got to be missing something here...

AP is not the equation.

Intake and x whereas x= FMIC, TMIC, TIP or DP upgrade can cause a drop in fuel pressure.

You have a genpu, that alone is enough reason to get internals. Our pumps lose pressure a lot easier than genjuan. Do yourself a favor and get them, if not then stop arguing and good luck.

Still confused as hell...I guess i just don't understand enough to grasp this...

In my mind limitting the boost is the key to saving the pump.

Clearly I'm wrong.

More airflow also equals more fuel, not just boost. Aftermarket intake flows better than stock. After all that's why you bought it right?

If you open up the air flow the stock fp cant keep up. My pressure dropped below 1600 at wot with just an sri. It is a pre req. to modding.

Correct, I just didn't think that the TIP made that big of a difference in the amount of air coming in. I thought it was more of an smoothness and consistancy of airflow over the stock piping, and that limiting the boost in essence would limit the amount of air entering the engine and reduce risk of hpfp failure.

I understand that I must be wrong (judging by everyone's responses), I'm just trying to understand.

No I have the SRI as well....

I'm not arguing anymore, I really have accepted all of your responses. Like I said, I called and spoke to CS and COBB and both gave me the response that I would be fine with the SRI/TIP and AP. I realize that @Raider is the king of these lands and is telling me otherwise. I take his opinion seriously, and probably more seriously than CS and COBB.

Plan as of now is to purshase the AP and install the stage 1 tune. Attempt to avoid WOT and monitor the fuel pressure until I can afford internals.

Of course, OTS maps are not the best. Self-tuning or having one of our eTuners on MSF help you tune even for nearly stock will be better than a provided map.

They want to sell their product, and you might be able to get away with it. Point is its not worth the risk. Take it easy and monitor fp until you get internals and your golden

OP if you dont want to add too much power just leave it stock and sell the AP and intake. You wont notice any difference in power.

stock TIP and intake + stock internals = enough fuel

upgraded TIP and intake (more air) + stock internals (same amount of fuel) = not enough fuel
