had MS3 for 1 week now, 1 question and my thoughts So, I got my car last Saturday. Silver 2011. I have to say, I am so friggin pleased with everything about the car. I'm sure you all agree, it feels/looks like a much more expensive car then it really is. The power, handling, interior, features still all shock me. Maybe it is because my last 5 vehicles were trucks, I realize now how nice it is to have a sporty 6 speed to drive daily :). Just got the windows tinted today, if it wasnt a monsoon, I would get some pics up. Tomorrow for sure. Here is my 1 question. And I have searched since Fri night about this, but never really got the specific answer I was hoping for. So, coming home from work fri night, this young punk was on my ass and driving like a total ass on the park way. He was in a mid 2000's M3. I wasnt giving into his bait, especially since my car has 700 miles on it. Well, when we got off the park way, at the first red light he actually went into the shoulder to try to pass me. So, of course, I launched the best I could, shifted into 2nd as hard as I could, then proceeded to shit my pants, lol. The noise of the motor smacking the firewall totally took me off guard. (yes, I managed to bone the prick out of getting by me). SO..RMM time right? I have looked at all the different options, but will they all stop the motor from slamming the fire wall like that? After searching, the cp-e 60 seems like the best choice for the least amount of added vibes, as long as it stops the engine slamming.. thanks for reading my rant :) |
Get the SURE one bro... |
don't be a pussy, get at least 75 |
Go 75 duro CPe rmm. Won't notice vibes really. Well worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I've had both a a cp-e 60 and a 75, it's 75 for sure. Vibration is minimal, do it. P.s. I'll be selling mine next week, less than 5k miles on it, stocking out and selling the car. (= |
As mentioned before, go with 75 at least. This is my daily driver as well and its really not bad with the 75 duro. |
What about the jbr rmm? Great quality and great price. |
All options will take care of your issue. JBR SURE cp-e TRZ All are quality, viable options. Depends on how much you want to spend. |
Jbr RMM ftw! I won't get my windows tinted until I've exhausted every power mod I want. |
Thanks everyone. Seems like the cp-e 75 is the way to go. I haven't seen much about the JBR yet, so ill search that now. Ckmazdaspeed3: The stock bare windows were killin me. Had no choice! :) |
Thanks for creating this post. I'm in the market for a RMM too and I'll prob go with the CPE 60. |
JBR makes them now too? How did I miss this. Now, CP-E or JBR is the question....or AWR since they look stock. Hummmmm.... |
I have cpe 75d and that feels soft after break in. When you go tranny mount, that's when vibes start getting bad |

I think I am going to get the cp-e 75. I was going to get a SRI first, but after that terrible 1-2nd shift the other day, now I realize why all of you said get the RMM first :) |
I am sure they are all great and much better then stock. I got the SURE RMM (street) and it works wonders, looks very nice (if that means anything), and priced right. |

wow, I have to say, the mods you have are exactly what I want to/plan to do. How does it feel compared to stock with what you have done? Big difference? Worth it? Thanks.. So funny, just a week ago I said, "na, I am not gonna do anything, just gonna leave it stock". Then I just looked at my last post and said :liar: |
The CP-E one is definatly the best. If you don't want to spend the extra money on it go with the SURE or JBarone mounts. They are almost exactly the same in design but $50 cheaper. That said, they use polyurethane inserts instead of real rubber like the CP-E one. The real rubber inserts on the CP-E one may be worth the extra money in the long run. |
Go with CP-e dude. They over-engineer everything (ok, definitely not everything, but they do make some good products) but if you can't afford the extra 50, get SURE. I wouldn't trust anything else out there personally. I was ignorant to JBarone. Thanks to Mchart. |
You wouldn't trust JBarone? I'd trust Jamie over anyone/any brand. |
If I were doing it all over again, I'd probably go with the JBarone 80 duro street style mount. That being said, I absolutely love my cp-e 75 duro mount. Vibes are stock except for idle with the A/C on - I've said this before, but you never see people who got the 75 saying they wish they had gotten the 60. On the other hand, damn near everyone who gets the 60 says they wish they had gotten the 75. 60 if you want absolutely no difference in terms of vibes vs. stock 75 if you want almost no difference in terms of vibes vs. stock And I hear the 75 tames wheel hop better, as well as reduces tq steer some more. I dunno because I've never tried out the 60. |

I figure if you're going big turbo anyway, you're probably going to want a full set of mounts. Really, what I didn't notice until I took off the mount was the reduction in torque steer, which is why I'm tempted to get the JBR PMM and TMM when those are released. |
I'm on the CP-e 75 as well with about 3k miles on it. Stock feel vibe wise now that it's broken in. Really didn't even notice it much when first installed. If I'm correct, vibes also depend on how much you torque the bolt down. Don't remember what I torqued mine too though. |
GO 75 OR GO HOME! i have it on my car which i drive as my daily driver like most everyone else and i absolutely love it. torque still is very minimal now and shifts are just alot smoother overall. good luck on whatever you decide though |

The biggest reason for the RMM is the simple fact that it removes basically all sloppiness in between shifts. I'm still dumbfounded as to how shitty the stock RMM is. It makes even less sense when you consider mounts like the CP-E mount don't add any extra vibes. |
+1 for cpe 60/65. ordered it after i hit the firewall the first time, over 20k miles later it has yet to happen again. rubber over polyurethane any day on a dd. there was just a thread recently about a sure rmm coming apart. caveat emptor. |
Yes, you notice a big difference from stock. I would say I have a combined 40+hp over stock that is noticeable. Of course it does not come without cost. The RMM is well worth it even if you do not mod power at all. I think its the best upgrade you can do, and I am sure most agree. |
Please don't speculate about how much more power you're making right now. Timeslips > Dynos > Guesstimation based off MAF g/s numbers > Butt Dyno. Intake + Tune has been worth about 50-60 g/s for me, depending on weather and boost levels. It's gonna be the best bang for your buck though, no doubt. |
I thought about getting the cpe 60 because my car is my dd, but i'm glad i went with the 75. Like most people are saying, the vibes really aren't that bad. I just installed mine a couple days ago. My shifts are more smooth too with the RMM and the JB SSP. I thought it was me that sucked at shifting before the mods but after I put the mods, there was a huge difference! |
Thanks again guys for the super quick replies and helpful tips. I am gonna get the cp-e 75. I will post up some pics/thoughts when I get it. Probably wont be for a little while yet.. |
My CPE 75 duro RMM produces minimal vibes at idle and driving, the car sounds and feels more aggressive as a result. It's only when you turn the A/C on that the vibes shake the steering wheel and get more noticeable. It isn't horrible - anyways the tradeoff is more than worth it every time you shift. The vibes should settle down a bit after the mount breaks in, but if the vibes go away entirely, then something is wrong. |
After doing some more reading, think I'm gonna go with the JBR 70 RMM. |

My two cents - I had a TRZ 75 - and hated it, it was the next best thing to bricks. Seriously. I put in an AWR 65 and its GREAT. Almost no vibes, no smacking, minimal wheel hop - its awesome. |
$8 Ratchet strap from Walmart... 130K miles and still going strong! |

I like AWR's design and it's pretty reliable without being overly gorgeous and shiny. |

what is the strap doing? sitting in place of the motor mount? pics! pics! pics! pics! pics! pics! pics! pics! pics! pics! pics! :pics: |

I have the SURE track RMM. Works well. If JBR had his out at the time, I would have got his, he makes quality shit. |
