Hard Starting When Hot My 2011 MS3 (stock, 90k miles) has started to require a couple of seconds of cranking before starting after sitting idle in hot weather. Cold, it fires normally, runs strong, and is not showing any codes. FWIW, the plugs have around 30k miles on them. The manual calls out fuel quality as a possible cause. Should I try a fuel additive as a first response, and if so, which one is recommended? Thanks team! |
What kind of plugs and what kind of fuel? Mods? Type and age of battery? |
was having the same problem on my 6. check all you battery connections and grounds...fixed the problem for me. |
Im having the same issues in summer, but wont happen in winter. |

Make sure you try and twist the battery terminal connections. I've had several autos that had problems only to be the connection at the terminals (or lack there of) like @wes3id; said |
I would change your 30k plugs. possible causes could be a going out starter, dirty or stuck open egr, plugs |
