Help needed....! Got my speed3 brand new from the local dealership 6 months ago, and now I think is the time to do some basic mods. I called the dealership before working on my mid list just to check if it will void my warranty. — The service manager said that he is not 100% sure I my mods will affect the warranty and the best way is to call Mazda to check....—Wanna figure it out before talking to Mazda.... — Pretty sure that you guys have encountered such situation....how did you guys solve the problem? What mods are generally permitted within the warranty?— Here is my basic mod list: SURE rear engine mount. Cobb intake. Hks bov with recirculation kit. Eibach pro kit springs. Many thanks for your helps! Jin |
Save money and don't get a bov.. Rear motor Mount intake and springs should be fine. Stock out if any problems. Leave springs unless suspension related warranty. /thread |
In for the lolz If you would search like a good little brownie, you wouldn't have to ask. |
I would not care if the dealer said a intake would not void my warrenty, i never go with anything but stock parts. That list you have there would take me 2 hours tops(minus the springs) to get back to stock. SOO just stock out before going. |
If you search, you will keep your warranty for life.. |
What's a warranty? :notworthy: |
If you're not willing to accept (financially) any damages that your modifications may cause...don't mod your car. Could your warranty cover a repair to a part your mod broke? Sure it could, and more than likely will. But what if it doesn't? Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2 |
OP, I'll help you a little since I'm still wearing the brownie badge of dishonor and feel like showing some solidarity. 1. Donate. Or stock up on Astroglide. 2. Learn how to search. You may switch this with 1 if you so choose. 3. Warranty? Really? Learn about the Magnuson-Moss Act (if in the US, otherwise disregard) and act how you feel comfortable. Also learn about stocking out. 4. Motor Mounts 5. Fuel Pump Internals + Something to monitor pressure 6. AP/Intake/BPV |
geezus,i bet the BRZ-FRS forums are just a bad:boggled: |

Thanks for linking it for him. I would have pulled it up but I was attempting to encourage him to do his own research. OP hasn't returned though, so it might be for naught. |
Just add a DP and don't bother with an AP. You can quickly convert your Speed into the worlds best looking paperweight. :hitwithrock: Donate and read. Learn from other's (myself included) mistakes. Get ready to have your bank account raped. |
