| Not Ranked : 0 score I told him about it, running thicker oil, and upping his rpm; but he says he sees those all as more or less band aids to the issue rather then an actual fix(can't argue much on that one). He is set on getting a fix for the seals wether it be a new turbo or getting his current turbo reworked.

Tell the service writers it smokes on long drives. Word of advice to everyone, always stock out 100% for dealer visits unless you have first hand experience with a cool dealership that accepts modded cars. No matter how ridiculous or unrelated it may seem. You do not want to start a case under the Magnuson-Moss act. You'll be up way past your bedtime. Especially against a corporate powerhouse. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I stopped by Jason's when he called me and told me he's smoking. I took the car for a drive and then inspected. I can say the seals are definitely going/shot. You can smell burning oil through the exhaust and there's quite a bit of smoke. Jay I'd do one of 3 things. Try and talk to the Mazda service managers and see who's mod friendly, trade in on a 2012, or mod up again and rip on it till it gets worse, then stock out again so you can get warrantied. Although honestly for all the work it'd be I'd just put the DP and TP back in and fuck the rest.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have to say i got my 2009 and 6 months later i started modding the car..Then track days and more track days.....Once i dd the full cobb catback and driving out to the track at 4am at a high speed i noticed some smoke at idle....I got one and a half sessions in at the track then boom the turbo went.....I said screw all the time to covert back to stock and deal with the stealership...So i went with the bigger turbo and an even better tune...Also i just happen to have a Mazda race shop in town so they just work on the car and i say fuck the warrenty.....I would say fuck your stock turbo go bigger it only makes sense and the car will love you for it! oh and no more smoke... |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Still stock in the garage, I did go under the car to do the RMM with @Sid3wayS and saw oil coming from the turbo. It seems ill just bring it in and say i saw oil on the driveway, and the place i just brought it to for oil change said they saw oil up under the turbo. Its been real busy thats why i havent brought it in yet. Like i said the car drives fine and it doesnt smoke catted. Hopefully all goes well when my wife brings it in after Easter.

I told him if the dealer ends up denying his claim just to stay stock for a while so that his cats finnaly take a shyt. With all that oily smoke that they are burning off it's only a matter of time.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Guess its a possibility that was the problem. My guess is with every body else and its the turbo seals. But put the DP back on and see how she does. You will need to give it a few days to let the residual oil that may be left in some spots to burn off. Definitely keep us posted on what happens thou.
