again, you don't know how much money he shelled out for the car or if he even had to take a loan. unattainable prices for the avg. joe can be accomplished when you pay cash for a car.

of course there are other possibilities too. just as an example, he could have traded in a car for much less than it's worth and paid the rest of the balance for the MS3 in cash, whereas the dealer would be willing to sell the car for way under sticker price because he'll make up the difference with the resale of his trade in. you can buy a brand new MS3 for $100 if you trade in a car that's worth just as much.

gotta have all the details of a purchase or the numbers mean nothing.

let me get this straight:

16K + 3K = 19K

21,595 - 19K = 2,595.

you financed $2,595?

if that is correct, then yes, he got that low of a price because he paid for nearly all of it the day he drove it off the lot and the dealer will turn a nice profit on his trade in.

just sayin'.

I dunno where you're getting these ideas that the ms3 gets 31mpg... if you drove totally flat all highway, cruising no boost, you might do that. but honestly, if you use boost at all, you get shit... 24 is my best average, highway cruising with minimal boost...

If I were to need money suddenly, I'd trade in for a Honda CR-Z... 21k msrp, get a lower financing rate, and get 40+mpg, hybrid ftw... I would end up having lower monthly payments, lower insurance, better mileage, and regular gas... There is a lot to be said for not owning a turbo car if you don't want to drive fast all the time. Honestly 31mpg in a ms3 is complete bs, you must be a grandma...
