"Hey man, nice looking car."

Last night at the WaWa (which only has 92 octane gas by the way) as I was pumping a 40ish year old guy comes out of the WaWa and walks to his truck which was at the pump next to mine. He said "Hey man, nice looking car." I have the black and it was filthy too. I just thought this was odd. I've owned probably 10 different cars in my lifetime and no one, I mean NO ONE has ever told me they liked the looks of my car. I had a 2002 Mustang GT in black that I thought was pretty good looking so that's my surprise.

Has anyone ever commented on your car in what seems like an outrageous way to you?

Only thing ever say about my car that don't know much about it is, "what kind of gas mileage do you get in that?" and my response varies from *lol* "I didn't get this car for the mileage" or "Depends on my mood"

Only place I stay long enough for people to talk to me is a gas station, on the road, they eat my exhaust.

No guys I'm dead serious and surprised and he wasn't fucking with me. I had my friend with me and he came to the same conclusions.

Off topic: There's these 2 guys, one with a modded 2002 VW GLI 1.8t fully bolted, and another with a brand new DSG 2.0T with just a chip and intake. They both talk smack, esp the new one that can "run 20 pounds of boost." So we happened to meet up yesterday and I showed them my car. I showed them that all it has is intake and a chip (basically) and an upgraded fuel pump (which surprisingly they both seemed to know about having a fuel pump driven by the cam hmmm). He really thought the AP was cool (I had it hooked up taking some Bucker Stage 1++ logs) and I showed him all the shit it can monitor. I mean these guys acted like they'v never seen such a thing. I asked them if they wanted a ride and they both did. I went back and forth twice on an empty parking lot just topping out 1st and 2nd and getting some LC/FFS action in there. When we were done, only the guy with the 2002 said anything and his words were, and I quote, "Be careful with this thing." I guess 20psi in a 2.0T is ghey. That about sums it up

Its only happened to me a couple times by a person that appears to be uninterested is automobiles. I mean, just some dude in a PT Cruiser or Ford pickup type. As far as gear heads, and other people that share the same automotive interests as we do, it happens regularly.

Sadly it's mostly women who have given the most compliments... a few guys, but mostly women. And the smile never gets the crap, it's always that damn wing. "Yeah nice wing, gives you lots of downforce for... some purpose.." I think it's only there because the WRX/STI has one :smh:

Only random comment I've ever had on the PU was when a Subaru guy said it must be turbo because of the hood scoop. Most of my car guy friends think it's ugly as sin and unforuantely I have to agree...you don't buy this car for looks. When I had my RX-8 though, people would comment on it all the time...I'd come out of a store and there'd be someone just staring at it. Beautiful car IMHO.

Can't wait for the Kodo inspired MS3 to come out in a couple of years. The design language looks promising. Anyone seen the new Takeri concept? Looks good.

I work for a dealership and every Wednesday I bring my car in for cleaning/modding. Every time I do there's no less then 3 people that tell me the car looks good, or "it looks sick with those wheels". The questions I hear the most are " how did u fit those wheels in your fenders?" or " where the fuck did you get that sick front lip?". Lol

My car gets the most attention at the Mazda dealers as well. Any time I stop by I get a host of different comments and questions from sales people and technicians, including offers to buy it. Most common comment at the dealer.

"wow, a Speed 6. You just dont see these anymore."

Its true that these cars are just Mazda 3s and 6s to most people. I assume that's why they tend to go unnoticed in places other than at the dealer, or car events, where people there realize what these cars are.

I have had way more comments on my 72 C-10 than my MS6. But those comments 100% of the time come from old white guys who get excited because they "had one just like it" when they were younger.
