Default HiD ballast

Good afternoon. I looked through the forums as much as possible but didn't really find a solid answer to my issue so I'm posting. I have a gen 2 2011 speed 3 and after getting back from Afghanistan a couple weeks ago I noticed that the passenger side headlight was out. Being stupid on vehicle repair, I went to the dealer who said the ballast is bad and quoted me, not joking, $2,345 to fix. There is moisture in the housing.

What is the best, non $2,345, method to repair and how long should I plan to spend on reparing it myself?

I have a thread explaining this in the electronics section. Some Nissans use the same ballasts we do and can be found on eBay.

But seriously though, I started thinking... What's up with your warranty? I'm pretty sure this should be covered. I assume you still have warranty left on a 2011?

I'm honestly not sure what ballast our speed uses but there are tons of different ballsts you can use. You may have to mount it in a different place if its different size. Check out HiDplanet : The Official Automotive Lighting Forum , you may find one there.
