high elevation 1/4 mile

Hey guys I live in albuquerque new mexico, our track is about 5200 ft. I wonder what times some of you guys are getting at higher elevation? And what mods you've see. The biggest gains with? I have seen some stuff out there and done some research but it's all pretty old and not a whole lot of info. So far my best is only a 14.5 @ 98 mph :/ mods are rmm insert, hpfp, UR testpipe, Corksport sri and tip. Let's your times and traps

Take a look here http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...mile-times-18/

Most entries have altitude or DA.

i did a 14.0 or 14.1 (can't remember which one) on pump gas and 13.6 on e85 in utah at 4500ft ASL. I had a Catless DP, CS intake/tip, res delete on the exhaust and fmic with tr8 core and tuned

yes, with a 2.1-2.2 60ft i believe

I never ran stock turbo up here, but you will see .5-.7 tenths slower then sea level is what ive noticed.

The more power/bigger turbo you run the less of a difference you will see.

Are you tuned? With the amount of mods you'll need a tune to take full advantage of the upgrades. 14.5 is on par with a stock vehicle at sea level, do I would guess that the marginal gain you see by running your mods untuned, offsets the losses due to elevation.

Fwiw I ran a 14.6 at 99mph untuned with an intake.

snailD 06-08-2015 05:40 PM

well its a hard sidewall tire so going to super low pressures wont help. i started at 3200 which is what i use for autocross, but i bogged, then i spun at 4000 then it was probably about right at 3800 but i had to let off a little because of wheel hop

icee753 06-08-2015 09:23 PM

What kind of tires are you running? Are you on stock suspension?
