im from Germany and very surprised how cheap the ms3 in other countries is! ;)

Ive paid here 25800€ thats nearly 37000$. And my car was a demo car with ~350km (from which i drove 150km) -> second hand from my mazda dealer... The list price for the Mazda 3 MPS (thats the name of the ms3 here) is something about 31500€ thats 45000$.

My car has the full package which is sold in germany. Ive seen that there are differences in other countries therefore ill list a few for better comparison: Bi-Xenon headlights with AFS, RVM, seat heater Bose sound system, navigation, keyless entry system, dual zone automatic climate control, tinted windows, rear parking sensors, bluetooth. The price includes a 3 year warranty + 2 year warranty extension.

My insurance costs are ~570€/year (~815$). 1l of 98 octane gas (called "Super Plus") which is recommended by Mazda costs currently 1,50-1,65€ thats 8,15-9$ per gallon.

Nope no trade in or anything. You see it was originally 23,000 and they were going to drive it down from some state but i didnt want that. So they put it on a truck.
I went to mazda to say hey to a friend(mechanic) and saw them pulling it off the truck. The unload er hit the side of the truck putting a dent in the bumper and a big scratch down the side of the car. 16,423 was the new price after negotiating that they buy and paint a new front bumper and i would have the side fixed. (FYI I'm a body man and a painter) so i took it home and got to work, was good as new 2 days later :) 120 for the base coat and FC720 clear coat from SW paint for 105. WINNING

I got two dealers within $42.00 on the base:

$21,536 (for base)

$23,999 (for Tech pakage) $25,856 OTD. Windows were already tinted and got that free. 33 miles on the odometer. Needless to say, I went with this deal. We ended up with 4.95% interest on a 72 month loan. I added Ipod integration and an extended warranty. $2,500 down and $1,500 trade. Final payments $389 a month.

Turned down the fluffy (read: B.S. protection packages and super extended warranties and other major dealer money makers). I did get the gap insurance and 3 years 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty (I drive a ton of miles). I can upgrade to the 100,000 mile B2B @ anytime before my 60,000 mile one runs out for a nominal fee.

I never play the dealer negotiation games. I email 10-12 dealers within 100-150 of me and basically ask them for their best deal and that they get one chance and that I have no qualms driving 200 miles to save a bunch of money.

I try to avoid car salesman and try to only deal with sales managers or the store manager. I'm sure I could have gotten a better deal if I wanted to spend 2-3 hours at the dealership, but I don't have that kind of time.

I get a BIG laugh when I see places like Carmax trying to sell used 2010/2011 MS3s for more than you can buy them new... LOL.

I paid 24500 for my 2010. It had the tech pack, tinted windows, clear bra, and all weather floor mats. I also got a Mazda customer loyalty. Purchase the car when the 2011 just came out in October 2010. I think that the time of the year helped me too.
