How often do you fill up? Now I know it's a performance car and not knocking it. Almost done with my first e85 mixed tank and can see the dramatic difference in mileage already. Performance is great. I live 1 mile from work but find myself driving plenty on weekends now and also random weeknights I might put in 50 miles one day. Even though I work 1 mile away, I still fill up 1x a week, 198 miles on the tank right now and have 4 bars of fuel left. How often do ya'll fill up? |
This has already been covered in another thread. I believe it's a sticky and also covers mpg on 91 and E85 |
Crap! I just wanted to start a conversation due to boredom, I'll check it out, sorry and thanks. |
I get 312 miles to a tank with only 1 square left and it is about 1 times per week |

my 312 is all city. taking it on its first real long drive this weekend |

I live 2 miles from work but only work 2-3 times a week so every 2 weeks e30 |
Wow I fill up twice a week minimum! |
400 plus per tank but I drive all highway |
Quote:
I drive all highway and I'm lucky if I get 300 out of a tank of 93.... Sent from my beard... |
I get about 330 if im super light on the throttle and if its highway at like 65 mph other then that more like 275 a tank. Damn lead foot and freektune |
live about 1- 1.5 miles from work depending on which route I take( to avoid traffic) put on about 10 miles a day on average. Fill up every 3 weeks. and get about 150 miles per tank. North New Jersey traffic eats my gas. |
Fill up every other day. 100 mile round trip to the office and back. |
Depends on how much I drive. Sent from fastest ko4 Pu! |
I hate you guys that get 300+ I get about 260 and fill up once a week (depending on how much I drive my bike now) Most of my driving is city so...yea |
I get 7mpg at the track. :D |
average once a week. on a good tank with not much driving, once in like 10 days |
I usually fill up once a week, but sometimes I have to fill up a second time. I get 307-320 per tank. Its a mix of 60% highway, 40% city. However, my highway miles are 80mph-85mph at all times, and there are two LARGE mountains which kill the mileage. I am sure if I kept the speed at 65 or lived in flatter area, I could see 350-365 miles per tank all the time, however, then I would have a Prius or Leaf. I am getting 26.5 give or take 1 MPG all the time. Drove it to Vegas few weeks ago, 4 hours there, 2.5 hours dinner, 4 hours back (don't ask), AC blasting the full way, got 27MPG. |
Hell i barely get 230 on the tank.. how do you guys break 300 miles.. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 2 |
9-5 230 miles per week. 12.6 gallons per week . 33% mix of e. Wot every day 6 days a week for almost a year. With the 93 tune i got 290 miles a week same shedual. Fuck the ss pky |
Once a month, because garage queen....:arms: |
Anyone getting over 270 miles to a tank regularly isn't having enough fun! ;) Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 |
I thought this thread was about your mom. In that case, I fill her up every night. |

I drive my car once to twice a week. My commute is about 14 miles each way. But I never fill up I usualy only put enough gas in for a couple days. Its difficult to keep 4 cars full of gas all the time. I'm a twenty dollar kind of guy every few days. |
The 93 oct Freek tune was getting me some filthy good highway numbers, but I went straight for the corn. It was about a 20% loss in MPG, but a 50% increase in fun. Fun wins.:fing02: |

I get about 220 on E (with highway driving) before filling up. On pump i've gotten 300+ but even with highway driving that's hard with a lead foot :drive: |
I usually fill once every 5-7 days. With about 60/40 highway/city I usually get about 300-330 miles per tank. I'm usually driving pretty light since I often have my one year old son in the car with me. On all highway tanks it's closer to 360 or so and my best tank was about 395 miles. I did notice a slight fuel economy increase with the AP and OTS 93 Stg 1 map. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
80/20 Highway/City and I fill up about every 4 days. Approximately 320-350 each tank. Cruise control usually with the exception of those times that I play around on the on-ramps, logs on the way home, etc. etc. I'm sure I can get better MPG if I keep off the throttle, but that's damn near impossible for me. |
160-180 to the tank max. Because Voltron lead foot yo. |
I get about 240 miles between fillups, filling ~12 gallons each time. Unfortunately that means I'm at the pump nearly twice a week with my commute. I drive like I mean it though, moving at close to 80 for my entire commute and a fair bit of braking and accelerating to pass the highway asses that don't move. I've seen as low as 17 mpg and as high as 30. In the winter months I seem to lose 2mpg consistently. I also lost about 2mpg with my big intake and ported intake mani; I had to adjust trims ~15-20% higher in my cruising rpms to adjust for the air flow. |
With my corn tune, and a mix of aggressive and easy driving, I'm between 210-240/tank, and if it's all highway (dragon trips) ~320/tank. On my 93 map, I'm between 270-300 mixed city and highway, and ~370 strictly highway. I usually flash my pump map when on a road trip. I go to Tennessee frequently so my son's mom can have visitation. I flash my pump gas map before leaving town and am usually able to make it to the meeting spot ~250 miles away with better than 1/4 tank left, and that's w/about 70 mountain miles. I take a jug of corn in the hatch, and if my son wants to slay the dragon on the way home, we fuckin' do it. I drive the remainder of my pump gas tank from roughly Knoxville to ~20 miles outside of the dragons end. I mix my gas at a certain Shell station and then off we go. I can make it all the way home on that tank of corn, including 11 miles of slaying the dragon. I think I got ~330 on corn on my last trip, including a single dragon run. These cars balance economy with performance pretty well. |
I fill my tank when the light comes on. |
I normally throw $20 in every time the light comes on. |
Not sure how often, on my 3/9 mix I get about 270 and on 93 about 350 (I think...) Sent from my beard... |
I fill up about once per week and get ~280 miles/tank on average using 93 doing 40/60 city/highway driving fair to moderately hard. I've seen as high as 375/tank doing long trips (all highway) and as low as 180 miles on a tank (because racecar). |
I usually fill up every other week. About 240 miles out of each tank of 93. |
I get around 300miles a tank, fill up every other day Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk |

I get horrible mileage compared to everyone here, like a little over 200 per tank of 91.. It doesn't feel like I'm that bad at driving efficiently but I guess I'm hooning too much. |
My wife takes it to work alot which is all highway and gets about 330 per tank. |
Quote:

I get about 275 to 300 miles a tank. I drive 30-40 miles a day to various work locations and fill up about every week or so. |
Talk about slaying the Dragon and gas mileage. I've used a quarter tank on an out and back down the Dragon from Deals Gap. lol Seems driving in 3rd gear for 11 miles at 5000 rpms will cause the gas needle to visible move. |
I average about 400-415 miles on a tank of 93, which were I live has twigs and berries in it "horrible quality" I fill up once ever 2 weeks unless |

How often do you fill up? The time I came close to a 400 mile tank was all highway driving with a very light foot. Shifting around 2500 RPM's, not letting the turbo spool, and doing some coasting when downhills permitted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Every day, sometimes twice a day. I average between 25 & 30 mpg mostly highway. Average speed is usually 75-90, I try to fill up at a half tank usually get 190-215 miles out of the first half. I've only ran it to empty a few time and got 320-350 from the full tank. |
Wth, I get 240-260 on stratified tune, 93 pump gas, & when it's below freezing I do let car warm up for 1-2mins max before I take off, 70% city 30% highway but its not stop and go traffic. Not sure why it so shotty, avg per take is like 22 mpg Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk |

I get 150 miles per tank right now. Running straight E85 and a heavy foot is not bueno, But at least it gets me to work fast so its OK. Sent while cleaning my spill valve again... |
I get anywhere from 250 to 330. Started freek tune I didn't notice a huge difference in mileage. I let my car warm up in the winter too. I have to fill up every 2 to 3 days. 60 mile round trip to school and then another 40-100 depending on where i go snowboarding, on top of all the other driving I do. |
Yeah in winter I fill up more too due to driving to ski areas. It's usually about 300 miles round trip from here to north central VT so that can kill most of a tank in a day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I have a long commute right now - about 250 miles, round trip. Been getting 350+ miles per tank and almost 31 mpg droning down the slab. |

Close to 280 miles per tank for me on my 93 tune and winter mix. Fill up every week. 50/50 highway city |

I fill up 2-3 times a week. Mostly because I rarely get close top topped off due to trying to maintain a 50/50 corn mix. Probably get around 180-220mi/tank, maybe? Never really paid enough attention to have accurate numbers. I've got a heavy foot and a lot of traffic in daily use. |

I've been getting between 300 and 330 miles per tank. I fill up every 4-5 days. I drive a minimum of 60 miles a day for my commute to and from work. This car gets sucky ass milage. LOL. It's actually worse than my WRX. I didn't buy the car for better MPG but was kinda hoping it would get a little better than the WRX, not worse. |

A 6.2L C6 vette with a manual is rated at 16/26 while our cars are rated at 18/25 I hate looking at those kinds of comparisons because I like the MS3 but fuck it's mileage, it's absolutely horrible for a 4 banger. You have 400+ hp cars making similar fuel mileage. |
Stay out of boost, get to 6th and cruise at 45mph. Keep it around 70mph or under on the highway and you should see upper 20s to about 30mpg if you are fairly unmodded. But what's the fun in that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The MS3 WILL easily exceed what a C6 can do, but you have to be willing to tune it and drive it properly. This is especially true for the GenPu, as it has somewhat longer gearing than the GenWon/MS6. |

All jokes aside, I did that shit in a Celica trd I dropped it 6th trying to back up......just learning to drive a stick, boss was pissed lol gotta love that learning curve Sent from my SGH-T599N using Tapatalk |
Haha nice. You know what I mean. Get into 6th at as low a speed as possible without lugging the engine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Quote:
Like I said I'm happy with the performance but even stock it had bad mileage. Now I'm almost fully bolted and I don't get into full boost daily sometimes rarely weekly. Blame that on my typical commute and the traffic around here. |
once 2 to 4 days 304 fillups since I've had the car lol |
Get about 350 on a tank. Mainly highway driving as a DD. |
I start getting jealous from all the 350-400 highway guys, then realize highway driving in Miami is like driving in an endless school zone Sent from my SGH-T599N using Tapatalk |
Ya man, CT's all highways and backroads Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk |
I get about 300 miles to a tank. Fill up once a week. I started driving the wife's RSX to work for a while but missed the Ms3. |
I'm 90% city driving so I get about 210-230 a tank, usually once a week. When I'm running my 3/9 e85 mix it's about 200 a tank. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2 |
I'm only getting like 300 a tank and it's all highway with cruise control. I only have 1000 miles on it though and it's been getting better each time. My computer read 99.9 mpg the other day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
You will get better mileage with the cruise control off. With it on the computer will be on and off the gas trying to maintain set mph. To max fuel mileage, maintain a stead pressure on the pedal, just enough to keep from accelerating. Ease off on up hills, and accelerate on downhills. Just remember to stay out of boost and maintain minimal load. I was able to get 430 miles to 12 gallons of straight 91... And let me tell you, it fucking sucked dick driving a speed like a Prius. Fuck gas mileage, Zoom Zoom! Sent while cleaning my spill valve again... |

How heavy is your foot? That's really bad milage. I still see 20-23 mpg when I'm driving with a heavier foot. My car is pretty stock too. SRI and OTS cobb 93 tune. But even stock I was seeing similar milage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I get around 240 miles a tank and I fill up around once a month. All my miles are city miles, which amounts to about 6 miles per day. |
Well I just got the car. I had it up to 19 at one point but not anymore. I'm probably pushing it a lot more than most |
Quote:
How dare you impugn our honor!? Calling us liars because you are inept. Even on a 50/50 tune I can get 300, as long as I don't drive over 63mph |
Wtf is with 63mph? I did a hypermiling competition in my old fit and all the "seasoned pros" were throwing that number around saying gas milage plummets in most vehicles over that speed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Something is wrong man, maybe your memory from lack of oxygen. The higher the elevation, the less oxygen, the less efficient motors run in any car. Quote:
Mpg For Speed - Fuel Efficiency Vs. Speed Pushing air around actually takes up about 40% of a car's energy at highway speeds. Traveling faster makes the job even harder...The increase is actually exponential, meaning wind resistance rises much more steeply between 70 and 80 mph than it does between 50 and 60. |
@makjur; when I get some time for a road trip I'll shoot a video with a time laps and post it here, for everyone to see. Higher Elevation means Less air, therefore less fuel. Our cars are very efficient when it comes to up hills. Mountain driving enables you to coast over 50% of the time which is where you will earn back your MPGs. Flats are a different story, I will admit. Sent while cleaning my spill valve again... |

How often do you fill up? Since I moved I'm 100% city, I get about 170-180 per tank but at 4-8 miles a day no problem! Beats 45 miles a day |
