I'm 90% city driving so I get about 210-230 a tank, usually once a week. When I'm running my 3/9 e85 mix it's about 200 a tank.

I'm only getting like 300 a tank and it's all highway with cruise control. I only have 1000 miles on it though and it's been getting better each time.

My computer read 99.9 mpg the other day

You will get better mileage with the cruise control off. With it on the computer will be on and off the gas trying to maintain set mph. To max fuel mileage, maintain a stead pressure on the pedal, just enough to keep from accelerating. Ease off on
up hills, and accelerate on downhills. Just remember to stay out of boost and maintain minimal load. I was able to get 430 miles to 12 gallons of straight 91... And let me tell you, it fucking sucked dick driving a speed like a Prius. Fuck gas mileage, Zoom Zoom!

all high way with an overweight foot still getting between 350-400 depending on how many horses and hondas I cross on 93

Alright, I'm just a lazy shit with my hour commute. I'll try it out today and see how it goes. Thank you.

I spend at least 1/3 of my paycheck a week on gas, $40-$50 a day makes a crater in the bank account....a prius probably would've been the easy way to go. But I have penis therefore I can't drive a prius

My commute is 62 miles one way. I'm filling up all the time. Haha. My justification was as long as it was the same mpg or more fun than my last car it makes sense. And sense my last car was a honda accord then I could've picked anything and it would've been more fun.

It says 99.9 when you are off the throttle and just coasting because you are not giving any gas to the engine. If you step on it after that, it goes down to 18. LOL

LMFAO!! This is the motto we must live by driving these cars.

haha7seven7 12-17-2013 07:07 AM

I don't even think I get 200 miles out of one... and I'm stock >_> computer says 16.7 mpg average

Skierdood 12-17-2013 07:11 AM

How heavy is your foot? That's really bad milage. I still see 20-23 mpg when I'm driving with a heavier foot. My car is pretty stock too. SRI and OTS cobb 93 tune. But even stock I was seeing similar milage.

Gr@y_F0XXX 12-17-2013 07:12 AM

I get around 240 miles a tank and I fill up around once a month. All my miles are city miles, which amounts to about 6 miles per day.

haha7seven7 12-17-2013 07:13 AM

Well I just got the car. I had it up to 19 at one point but not anymore. I'm probably pushing it a lot more than most

Elevation was 6000-8000 feet, Mountain roads, 60-85 degrees, car was new, and stock tune. I got 453 miles on one tank. Yes I said one tank.

How dare you impugn our honor!? Calling us liars because you are inept. Even on a 50/50 tune I can get 300, as long as I don't drive over 63mph

Skierdood 12-17-2013 02:07 PM

Wtf is with 63mph? I did a hypermiling competition in my old fit and all the "seasoned pros" were throwing that number around saying gas milage plummets in most vehicles over that speed.

Normally about 280-320ish

who is us? so far just you...
Something is wrong man, maybe your memory from lack of oxygen. The higher the elevation, the less oxygen, the less efficient motors run in any car.

I found this a while ago from another source, best thing i could find quickly was on this page
Mpg For Speed - Fuel Efficiency Vs. Speed

Pushing air around actually takes up about 40% of a car's energy at highway speeds. Traveling faster makes the job even harder...The increase is actually exponential, meaning wind resistance rises much more steeply between 70 and 80 mph than it does between 50 and 60.

littleloogy 12-17-2013 08:50 PM

@makjur; when I get some time for a road trip I'll shoot a video with a time laps and post it here, for everyone to see.

Higher Elevation means Less air, therefore less fuel. Our cars are very efficient when it comes to up hills. Mountain driving enables you to coast over 50% of the time which is where you will earn back your MPGs. Flats are a different story, I will admit.

it sounds unreal, but i'll take your word for it
I recently drove from Reno to San Diego, mainly on 395.. was a fuckn crazy drive
Too bad i was in a chevy silvarado 1500 and it snowed in the mountains so driving was slow and hazardous
the rocky's are awesome, makes me look at all the shit we have on the east coast and thnk that they are hills now

ms3rick 12-17-2013 09:50 PM

How often do you fill up?

Since I moved I'm 100% city, I get about 170-180 per tank but at 4-8 miles a day no problem!

Beats 45 miles a day

El Beaner 01-08-2014 09:14 AM

I had been tracking my mpg since day 1 I got the car, but my phone had an issue and I lost that data. This is over the past month. The last mpg/highest mpg is from a trip last Saturday from Dallas to Tulsa using cruise at 75-80mph for I'd say 90% of the trip

Dark1 01-08-2014 11:53 AM

I get an avg. of 810 miles a tank on 193 oct. unicorn piss...:09:

But seriously, I avg. around 220-230 a tank...95% city with a few heavy pedal starts thrown
in for shits and grins...mileage @ 2330 btw.

Damn I wish I got over 300, best to date was 320ish and I haven't seen those numbers since, does anyone else's car eat gas like crack in really cold weather? I average close 280-290 and fill up 1-2 a week.

Lol not used to hearing people say NY has cheap gas. Where are you CA? Yeah 93 is hovering just below 4 bucks right now here.

Ah gotcha. Yeah gas in CT is pricey. I love going skiing in VT cross the border and gas magically drops 15-20 cents/gal. Granted that only adds up to saving a couple dollars but it feels better lol.

Just after thanksgiving I was paying 3.47 then it right before Christmas it jumped to 3.67 and steadily increased to 3.87......I'm going to pay 3.87 when I fill up today, sad thing is there is a gas station 1/2 mile away charging 4.99 and people are paying it

Sent from my SGH-T599N using Tapatalk

Skierdood 01-09-2014 07:34 AM

That's insane! We have a few stations around here where 87 will be cheap but they jack up 93 almost a dollar per gallon more. Then some places where 87 will be expensive but 93 is 15-20 cents more and it'll end up being one of the cheaper places to get 93.

Tapatalk is consuming my life

red ghost 01-09-2014 07:40 AM

It's usually a 20 cent difference between each grade.......I remember being pissed about gas being 1.50, it's highway robbery, unacceptable, I'm going to boycott the gas stations.....or just bitch and complain every time I drove by......now it's like oooohh gas is only 3.65 there

Sent from my SGH-T599N using Tapatalk

Skierdood 01-09-2014 07:45 AM

Yup same here usually about a 20 cent jump per grade. Except some places it'll go regular 3.60 > Mid grade 3.80 > Premium 4.50. I hate them for that especially if I catch one and I am in a hurry and really need gas.

once every ~300 miles.

so about every other week... twice a month fillup.

red ghost 01-09-2014 07:58 AM

I hate that, I was on a trip from Orlando to Miami, paid 4.89.....the only bonus was I had a good tail wind and got 190 miles out of the first 1/4 tank

Sent from my SGH-T599N using Tapatalk

Skierdood 01-09-2014 08:01 AM

I remember gas being under 90 cents a gallon. You could find a half a tank worth of gas in loose change in your pockets. Then 9/11 and Katrina came along and gave them an excuse to jack the price.
