Probably garbage stock RMM. Once I replaced mine with aftermarket, I haven't had that happen since.

Not sure if it speaks for anything with the MS3, but my regular 3 sedan has 120k on it with the original clutch, motor, and transmission and I still drive it daily. The only thing I've had to do to that car thus far is oil changes, tires, and I had a PMM replaced under recall.

My bet would be the trans but checking to see if it's the RMM is neither difficult nor expensive.

I'm at 61k on my 2010 and I've never had any problems. Oil, tires, brakes, and filters are the only things I've had to change. Very solid car. Oh, my right front strut did bite the bullet, so I upgraded to Bilsteins. There are some slight rattles and buzzes, but nothing a little tap on the dash doesn't fix. I'm just now modding a bit and plan to keep this thing until it decides it wants to die. Most fun you can have for under $30k in a car without it being filled with 18 year old Thai hookers.
