Had my wife with me coming home from a restaurant last night. Merging onto the local beltway, I kept the car in 4th as I gently accelerated onto the freeway. RPMs were somewhere in the mid-3K area, I said to the wifey "and this is the turbo" and I pressed the pedal to the floor. Her head was pressed back against the headrest, all she could say was "wow." I love this car. Oh and btw, bone stock still, nothing but a ScanGauge.

Good stuff. I did the same when I first bought the speed. But dude, unless you have a thick skin, I recommend not mentioning your wife's head being pressed against anything. The panting hyenas around here will circle you both quickly.

I'm only 33 but I remember feeling too old for the car the day I picked it up, but I was so excited. I've had faster vehicles, I've had cars that are more fun to just cruise around in, but this is my first nice car, and it didn't hurt that it was pretty quick, too. It's the first car I've owned where everything just works...I've had cars where the right blinker won't cancel or the left one didn't work at all, and several where the A/C just doesn't work. My fastest car didn't have functioning rear brakes- and I never knew until I washed it one day and noticed the rusty rear rotors.
I traded in my previous vehicle and drove home in the Mazda, picked up the wife and we went on a little cruise and grabbed dinner. We went in, sat down at a table and looked out at the car and I just started laughing. "What the hell am I doing? I'm 32 years old...LOOK at that thing!" The phrase "Boy Racer," kept echoing in my head from every review and article I had read while researching which vehicle to get. Giant goofy grin, bulgy hoodscoop and two elephant ear mirrors hanging off the side.
"I just bought a car that looks exactly like Alfred E. Newman!"

Default Old Guys

I guess you can add me to the list of old farts. I'm 46, with a 2010 silver MS3. This is my 3rd turbo (after a 2004 srt-4 and a 2008 cx-7) and I dont think I could ever drive anything without a turbo ever again! I love this car! My only complaint is the on-off tendancy for the clutch. SRI-installed. AP is next followed shortly thereafter by exhaust and most probably a divorce. Hope to christen it on the Dragon this weekend.

58 Here, had my MS3 for 3 yr, 08 with MSCAI and MSCBE, I commuted 110 miles round trip 5 days a week and enjoyed everyone but at mile 57 when I got my first and last $165 ticket. My OEM tires lasted 26 K doing the interstate DD, in summer I can get 32+ MPG driving like my age and the car will go 13:50's @105 mph with these minor mod's( car is not a good drag racer particularly) Currently 72K on the odometer, just got my second set of tire after OEM's, 225/45/18 Yoko tires, complete set of Koni Yellows and bump stops (3 OEM's had lost pressure and oil) and front and back set of HPS pads!
Rides just as nice and have just as much fun with the car as when it was new.

43 here, and like others, this car makes me feel half my age when driving it. That's a great deal. And the guy I bought it from is the same age as me.

Zoom zoom, pull over for coffee.

Current old timer mods: CAI and HT tune.

41 yrs old. I have to laugh about the demographic comment. When I sold my snow tires to some 20 something kid in a subaru he called me old. Oh, well. Its a fun car even if the marketing people think otherwise.

Thought I'd chime in.....Great Forum...Learn a lot reading all of your posts....Just turned 58 and have been driving my 07 MS6 for 3 years now. Ran in several SCCA Autocross races with it and it runs fantastic..just a little bit of understeer...came in second place last race...have a Hypertech Tune and it pulls strong after 5500. Every day I look forward to driving to work. It's just an exhilarating little car. I love it.
Thanks for all of your input.

Jeeze and I thought I was too old for this car. But ive modded cars before, this is the first one i decided to leave stock. Its fun enough for me and not have to worry about reliability issues.

Thanks for the thumbs up JS+M3...I try to stay active in motorsports....generally between occassional SCCA events with the MS6 and drag racing with the mustang, it keeps me busy. Both cars are a blast to drive. Haven't taken the MS6 to the drag strip...but the mustang has been all over the northeast...Has a 514 hittin 770hp and running ~ 9.15 second 1/4 mjles...between the two it keeps me young and a big hole in my pocket!! Anyway, can't let you young whipper snappers get too much of a leg up on this old man...Haa lol
