I did too, the reason I choose to is I know it does absolutely nothing for protection but the warranty against corrosion, fade, acid etching as well as the interior protection with a child is well worth it. 7yr warranty with no questions asked, the new ones we just started are lifetime for the original purchaser.

How much did it cost you, how many claims have you seen, and how many have paid out? Also, do you trust dealership detailers to correct damages? More often than not your car will come back to you with rotary holograms or other damage. As for interiors, it takes a lot more than a child to fuck shit up more than normal wear and tear. You'd save a lot of money and keep your car looking good by using proper exterior wash methods, regularly applying a quality wax or sealant, and vacuuming and wiping down interior surfaces often.

$160, we've done a couple interior claims but no exterior since Ive been here. Our guys have been doing paint correction and reconditioning for over 15 years each. Interior stains are fairly common with the newer materials.

I detail my car whenever I can including multi-stage wax system, vacuuming and detailing the interior. Its not that I dont take care of my car but if they dont mind repainting my bumper due to chips... its worth the money.

$160 and includes repainting for rock chips? How do you not lose your ass from this? It isn't adding up to me. Most interior stains are easy to take care of. I'd love to see the paperwork for this plan.

Retail is $395.

Its kind of like gift cards... the company bets against the end user not using them. Most people forget they have it.

And the finance manager will tell a customer a bunch of bs, including repainting a panel, but then at best they'll do touch up, wet sand, and polish.

I take it you had a bad experience? Not all dealers are created equally.....


Either way, its not us that pays for the repair, its the company that warrantied it so we would much rather take their money and repaint the whole thing.

@rustysurfsa; what about the '14 Escapes?

$28k gets you:

2.0 ecoboost rated at 270tq @ 3000rpm

30mpg highway(a decent difference from the CX5's but those things are pretty underpowereed)

Also, under that $29k were most of the bells and wistles, 8" screen, 9 speakers a few other things..Just no split roof..

I'd wait for a TD cx5 - the gas motor is slow as fawk. My gf has a 13' and its slow. Can't beat 27+ mpg though... And she drives like ass (hot headed italian, and not afraid to smash the gas), so any normal person would probably get closer to 30.

EVERYONE rates them as being slow..but for a wifey's DD I thought it was plenty fast..

She drove the speed once..

my girl bought a new '13 CX-5 with basically everything and AWD. she didn't get the top line, but the one right below it. i think she walked out at around $28k about a year ago now. has sunroof, bose system, moving HIDs, BSM, rain sensor, DRLs?, touchscreen TomTom nav that is the shit, seat warmers, etc.

i believe the only thing she does not have is leather and the buttons on the outside door handles to unlock the car. and yes, it doesn't have the greatest pick up. but i believe Mazda boosted the HP in the 14s, right? either way, it's plenty to get up to highway speed on an on-ramp.
