I'm Ready for my first mod

Well ive been a mazdaspeed3 owner for about 3 weeks
i cant believe it took me a day to sell my takeda intake from my previous lancer car
and i got 180 for it
im really feeling the intake mod right now
someone told me about the SURE intake being the best option or something
please help me out
where can i get it? how much? any other options?
and does the intake for the mazda does help with the turbo boost?
cuz my brother bought an intake for his genesis and it sounds pretty dope
i really like the boost from a car, so im thinking it might do the same

oh and one more thing
what voids the warranty? will this affect the warranty?
is there a thread were you can see what mods fit your car
without voiding the warranty

help! =]

woodfloor 07-20-2012 06:41 PM

In before brownie bloodbath.

Mortose 07-20-2012 06:43 PM

first off, this is the land of voided warranties.

Second, Donate should be your first mod ($25) this will lead you to the FS sections and porn.

Third, search. There are a MILLION threads about intakes. (of which most, you can find for cheap used on this forum, once you donate)

/Good deed for the day

FTMazdaS3 07-20-2012 06:46 PM

well not exactly the answer i was looking for
but i guess

thanks still

Prior to anything, you need to learn to use the search function..this information has been given 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times.

Buy an intake, it opens up the car a lot. SURE makes a great product, yes.

yea i just found out about it
how stupid huh?
well i think im going for SURE
but one last question that i couldnt find on the search bar
can the dealership void my warranty? will it give me any codes
if it i put it on? they might be simple questions
but i really wanna make sure

rwelsh 07-20-2012 07:24 PM

will void the warranty, yes. Shouldnt give and codes but you should go AP and HPFP before anything else

BPASPEED 07-20-2012 07:25 PM

Refer to post # 3 for all your questions sir. If you worry so much about your car, invest some time learning about it. Go here and spend some time reading the stickies. http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/forum/f511/

This is all over the internet..

The intake will not throw a code.

Different dealers allow different mods..an SRI can be swapped out in 5minutes if you're paranoid.

Wow you fellas are really being nice today!!! OP consider yourself lucky,
I guess? :loveweed:

Not even a groan fest....:soapbox:

Mortose 07-20-2012 07:42 PM

ok, you can type in sentence form. just FYI. For these cars to do well, you need to ride them hard and put them away wet. The more you beat on it, the more it asks for. Like it was said, and intake can be swapped REALLY quick, but if your really concerned, then mention it to one of the service techs at the dealer "would i still get repair coverage with an intake?" or something to that point.

I'm going to say it one last time, SEARCH. If you don't find something, try again with a DIFFERENT search.

Edit: WTF. I'm done with the nice shit.

FT mazda welcome to the fohrum! generally people here frown upon ppl who ask questions that are new. Ill make a quick list for you to consider to get u started goodluck bro and hope u enjoy your ms3 and learn from us here.

1. Rear motor mount upgrade (sure)
2. cobb ap
3. air intake + turbo inlet hose

and after that and a lil research you'll be able to decide which route u wanna go next for say more power or handling ect.

i would suggest upgrading your blow-off / BPV after you are running stage 2 maps with downpipe and intercooler upgrade

the stock recirc valve is good up to about 18 psi before it starts boost leaking

turbosmart makes a great bov

heres a few good companys

sure motorsports
COBB
JBR
turbosmart
corksport
cp-e

and here a few good websites we use

streetunit.com
corksport.com
edgeautosport.com

goodluck and dont forget to upgrade your fuel pump internals theres many threads here on doing that pm me if u need additional help.

Voltron 07-20-2012 10:26 PM

Why the fuck
Are we typing
Like we are writing a poem?

FastHatch 07-20-2012 10:42 PM

Lol dumbing it down maybe. I wouldn't worry too much about voiding the warranty especially with just and intake and exhaust. Like they said ask the dealership if their aftermarket friendly. My Mazda service manager drives a 2010 speed3 with a few mods and is always excited to see what I've done to mine when I bring it in.

Mine too, your not in SoCal are ya? My service manager almost shit on my month old seats the first time he heard my stereo.

Tlnt60 07-21-2012 03:12 AM

Dude... Look at my post count... Just about everything I've wanted to ask has been answered 3 to 4000 times. Now that I broke my posting cherry, I feel better. Btw awesome forum, and will be donating as soon as I figure out why both CC no worky on Paypal.

woodfloor 07-21-2012 11:46 AM

First mod is always the donate mod. Followed by a Rear Motor Mount and then you work on driver mod. Because if you can't get the power down properly and shift properly then it doesn't matter how much power you are making if you can't control it.

I don't know if I should groan you or thank you, so I'll leave it neutral.

As for OP, blue spring, two shims.

gearhead750 07-21-2012 12:02 PM

My money is on OP being a fucking troll

Edit: Well maybe not after looking at previous threads but dude come on.... Just read a little and you'll figure out what's what.

Don't apologize, just take it as a learning experience. This forum is amazing if you have some thick skin, can take a joke and come off as an intelligent adult.

Not to be mean but I suggest trying to use better grammar and punctuation because on the internet we communicate through text and when you type like you do, you come off as an unintelligent teenage girl whether or not you actually are. You will be taken much more seriously when you present yourself in an intelligent manner. ;)

But otherwise your mod list looks about right. That stuff should hold you over while you research and read on here before you make the move to any bigger mods. Your next mods though will have to be High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) internals and a Cobb Access Point (AP). Those are required for anything beyond a SRI. Otherwise you might lean out your engine too much since the stock fuel pump sucks dick and blow up your engine. Zoom Zoom Boom.

Ok, im gonna go with your way lol, i typed like this because i got use to it, even though i work processing insurance claims and well you know i cant use the "u" or "r" or things like that, its just how i got use to it, but i'll try to fix it, and can you help me out with one more thing?

Like i said earlier, i'm new to the whole mazda, and im still learning about it, but is the TIP necessary when changing to a SRI? is it something you will recommend? and how does it help? since im already asking stuff here, just thinking i should ask right away.

Illusion 07-22-2012 04:37 PM

get the tip when u upgrade the sri cobb makes them both priced very well. makes no sense to upgrade the sri if the airflow is still being slowed down by the turbo inlet pipe.

mmmmm i see i see
donation
SURE aeros sri
cobb tip
motor mounts

im getting this now thanks =]

and what if i use the intake without the TIP for a while?

Illusion 07-22-2012 05:52 PM

that is possible but the way i see it might as well do it while your in the engine bay anyway, your call.

shifter48 07-22-2012 07:19 PM

Get a JBR rear sway bar too.

faeker 07-22-2012 11:04 PM

don't waste your money on the TIP. Internals are a much better first or second mod, especially for Genpu's. and now to fulfill my usual troll nature;

use the fucking search button you god damn noob. it has all the answers to questions you didn't know you had.

best of luck to you and your new car.

BPASPEED 07-22-2012 11:21 PM

Id go for the internals first, then check out the JBR WP intake, takes care of both the TIP and SRI in one shot.

woodfloor 07-22-2012 11:28 PM

I got a pretty good deal on just the SRI on the VIP forum so I can't tell you. I don't have a TIP.

evolizzee 07-23-2012 02:45 AM

Fuel pump internals, Cobb Access Port, Rear motor mount, Intake/Inlet housing, Down pipe/Test pipe, Ethanol tune... In that order!

gearhead750 07-23-2012 06:26 AM

^^^^^^THIS

Voltron 07-23-2012 07:04 AM

I have a cp-e 75 duro rmm chillin here if you want to buy it. Shoot me a pm if interested.
