Incoming new owner
 

Hey there,

I'm new here, actually just created my account probably no less than 5 minutes ago. Just wanted to introduce myself.

Here's my story real quick, I purchased a regular Mazda 3 about 7 months ago from the dealership I work at (Mazda dealer) after driving the car for about 7 months, I realized that it would not be worth the money to invest into it to make it go "faster".

So now I'm in the position to trade it back in and get a new 2012 Mazdapseed 3. The only thing I have left to decide is color. I absolutely can't decide between Velocity Red or just Black. I like both, xD. Might have to flip a coin on that.

I've driven the car many times already (Perks of the workplace :p) and I can tell you that the clutch in this car is nothing like the one in my current Mazda 3 LOL. It engages literally instantly. Caught me by surprise and I almost peeled out of the dealership LOL. MY B.


Anyways, how do you guys like your car? what are some of the first mods I should be looking at doing to it? If you can't tell, my head is on a swivel right about now, so excited to be an owner of a MazdaSpeed3!!!!

I think I might actually go with black, I feel like if it's all black, it can hide the smiley face in the front a little bit better.

Welcome, I got black because I have always owned a black car and have learned to wash and dry without swirls but you have to wash the car all the time.

Personally the White looks the best on this platform, just as hard to keep clean.

Read all the stickies in the forum and you will learn without being flamed or get some REALLY THICK SKIN, you will need it.

Every time I get in a brand new manual skyactive 3 I almost feel like I push the clutch through the floor board. Sorry you wasted money on a 3 that you should of known right off that bat that you could not make it any faster. Hope you are not upside down on it. But welcome, and your first mod should be donate, that was my first mod and it has all ready led to 2 mods on my car care of the FS section. Also I got me a black speed 3, they just look sexy when they are nice and clean with a good coat of wax, then with some dark windows you are set go.

Wait for 2013's.

Not what from what I heard, info on 2013 3's are scarce, getting plenty of info on the new mazda 6, even heard there are some in cali but they are all wrapped up and hard to tell what they are.

What dealership do you work at? Are they mod friendly? What do you do there?

I'm only about an hour from you and if I ever have issues if your dealer is good with mods, I'll drive the extra distance...lol

Um white is fastest. White reflects the sun's rays and lowers the temperature of everything behind it. Including everything under the hood.

That being said I chose black and have gone fast enough.

I work at Eastside Mazda and Volkswagen in Willoughby Hills. I do sales here. As far as my Speed3 goes, they said I could do whatever I want to it and they'll take care of the warranty work on it. Perks though. I'll find out how it goes for customers though.

Personally I wish I could have gotten Silver because it looks good if you black out the rest of it and it hides the dirtyness better. You can see everything on Black...I'll just end up painting it a few years down the line.

Im torn on this as well. Im wanting black because it hides the smile BUT i dont want swirls and I want silver because adding black accents to me looks awesome. Decisions decisions

I always have liked black except that it's hot as hell in the summer. Red will be only somewhat cooler since the interior is black anyway. I think this car looks so good in red, though, so my vote would be red.

The clutch instantaneous grab point is a characteristic of this car. It takes some getting used to. I have owned many manuals and this one is one of the hardest to get used to. Once you do, it's not an issue.

I love my MS3, Best car i have bought. I have 1800 miles on it and a Corksport short ram intake with a upgraded turbo inlet pipe.

Get one, It doesn't matter what color, As long as it's a MS3
