Information Display no audio
 

I hate to even post about this because I honestly don't care about the function..but the fact that it just doesn't work makes me wonder why...

Basically, my information display(2013) does not show any audio information like it supposedly should. I know some stuff just doesn't work with it based on research and searching...but literally nothing shows up. Not any AM/FM information, no XM, no nothing. The top half of the screen just doesn't show anything except when you first start it up "ZOOM ZOOM" and "GOODBYE"..so it obviously works..just curious to why nothing else shows up. It just seems like half of the screen is just a waste. Anyone else have this issue?

Ok just looked at you other post that showed a pic - you have a 2013 w/ Tech, because of this all your info is on the touchscreen radio. The upper screen is going to be for info like milage estimate/maintenance all that. All your Nav and radio data is on the touchscreen.

@kevdog has a '13 Tech and mentioned that to me this weekend about the '13's with tech. You'll also notice the screen is a bit smaller than the other Genpu Tech's becasue our Nav is that screen.

Hrmm...well my mileage/maintenence info is on the other smaller screen. I am referring to the screen that displays the inside temp and a\c controls. So they just disabled the top half of the screen in the 2013s with tech? Seems dumb bbecause the entire top half of the screen just goes to waste.

I do plan on donating. I have easily already got my money's worth of information from this forum. :)

Oh you're referring to the small screen to the right. I would assume that with the large touchscreen you have they probably did that yes.

On the pre 13 Genpu's it is used only to show if the station is a preset, or channel # in sirius. Also shows the number/info of incoming calls. I'll snap a pic on mine when I go to lunch to show.

I see...well that makes sense. It was just bothering me because they didn't make use of the top half of the screen but oh well haha...I don't need to see music information in 2 different locations just thought it was weird. Thanks for taking the time to give me the info. Much appreciated.

Have a '13 tech myself and know what you mean. Not a big deal, but the upper half of the display does look....incomplete. I actually sort of wish music track/radio info displayed there along with the head unit. Would help keep eyes up and on the road sort of like the audio system and HUD on the 2014 models.
