Install of new exhaust
 

i heard that you have to cut the stock exhaust to get it off of genpu's. is this true?

has anyone run a single exhaust on a genpu yet?

why run single? you trying to be a hunduh or summish? :banned:

no one would ever do that with the genpu cause it'd look retarded. plus unless it's from a custom exhaust shop you probably will not find an aftermarket exhaust with single exit. they are all either dual muffler or a cross flow muffler with dual exit pipes

well honestly if your just in it for the power, i believe a single 3 inch would be most beneficial. yes obviously it would look stupid, im just curious. I'm viewing my exhaust options since i dont plan on spending 800 bux on a exhaust that will net me 1 hp.

actually thats not at all what i was saying. im saying that since an exhaust won't do much for power, why spend 800 bux? u can get a custom mandrel bent exhaust for 400. if you do single its 300. thats why i asked. lets all relax here and not forget that gen1's are single exhaust, i guess they're honduhs:439:

:damnit: ...do what you want, all im saying is spend the extra 100 bucks and fill the hole that will be left there if you get a single. my buddy had an s2k and put a single exhaust on it, sold it the next week cause he couldnt stand the look with single and the extra hole on the other side. im just being realistic with you, thats all.

lol i plan on doing the dual anyway, was just curious if anyone did a single on their genpu, i GUESS NOT haha. at least kept the thread alive for a couple minutes

use to be on mazdas247 (i know i know). but there was a guy with a genpu that had a 3" with single exit custom done at a muffler shop. dunno if it helped power wise never saw a dyno or anything after it was done.
