Installing Access Tuner Race, across the web So I am not sure about the legality of this but here goes nothing... My bother has been tuning for a lot longer than I have and I wanted him to take a look at my maps to see if there was room for improvement. Obviously this is impossible without the Mazda specific access tuner software. So I sent him the software (renaming the file to be a .txt file and he renamed it to exe after he received it). The next hurdle was the fact that he needed the accessport PRESENT to complete the install. Normally this would be a deal killer but I found this USB over Network - USB for Remote Desktop. (Nerdy stuff here) I went into my router and put my computer on the DMZ and enabled port forwarding (port 33000 for me). I then disabled all my anti virus, firewalls, etc inside of windows. I went to What Is My IP ® | Shows Your IP Address. and sent him that ip and the port number (33000). We downloaded the trial from USB over Network - USB for Remote Desktop and I installed the server and he installed the client. I shared the access port and he was able to connect and finish the install and importantly, view my logs. If this is in anyway illegal or whatever, mods please delete my post immediately. I don't see how it would be but you never know. The software is only good for mazdas, he still doesnt have an AP in person to program with, he cant technically benefit anyone with the software. i guess he could be a mazda tuner but still that requires an AP so...yeah... If this is good with everyone, then I would be happy to help anyone that needs the software. |

Pretty cool. |
Just for reference, you can download multiple copies of ATR. One would just have to complete and submit a form with the AP serial# I'm in no way doubting your brother's ability/skills to tune, but I would recommend getting e-tuned by one of the many great tuners our forum has to offer. |

you can't install atr without having an AP connected is what his post is saying. |
Why not just make some port forward rules in your router to point rdp access to your pc and have your brother remote to it from his place you could even make a user specifically for him Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk 4 |
If he were to rdp to me, he would just be doing the install for me on my comp through his. He would however be able to look at the tune and logs tho? |
Disregard my comments I didn't see you actually had it working. What I had proposed was just another solution to the problem of your brother not actually having an AP. If what you have works I'd say go with it. |
