JBR AP mount Just recently picked one up...just wondering how some of you have it mounted. I put it on the passanger side and ghetto rigged the cable till I have some time to clean it up. But I just mocked it up and it appears that the OBDII cable is too short to route through the center console. And putting it on the driver side, I think it would be in the way for my knee. So I guess I will have to buy a OBDII extenstion cable, it looks like its about 12" too short. |
1 Attachment(s) Here's how I had mine when I had it, I had the wire going under steering wheel to the driver side bottom console to the other side where you see it coming out from. tappin from the aokp running Nexus |
Ahh nice! Thats how I was planning on running it but I didn't think the cable would reach. Did you route this above the shifter? Also did you brace the goose neck against the plastic trim? It seems to wobble a bit when just standing alone. |
It'll wobble from time to time, no brace. I pulled the plastic back by the pedals where it's not connected and pushed the wire through, repeat other side pulling it out. tappin from the aokp running Nexus |
Yeah like Sway said, just pull the plastic pieces for both sides, and run it through. Through this area http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/...gerRouting.jpg |
Good stuff! Didn't even think to run it through there |
Thats how I have mine as well. Wobbles a bit but has never actualy fallen. Just make sure to not get the ap cable wrapped up in the shifter cables when passing it thru from side to side. You can also pop the obdII port out of place and push it back into the dash so that the plug itself no longer shows.has tabs on the side that you push in and then just acces it from the bottom and side fuse panel, and plug ap wire in. |
Thats not a bad idea either....so the clips are on the back side or the front face? |
Front face on either side, just use a flat head and push it in. Then theu the side fuse panel stick your fingers in there and pull it towards the panel. Then simply fish the ap wire in the same way from under the dash and connect. I put a tie wrap around the plugs just to make sure they wouldnt seperate. Whenever i need to use the ap i just plug it in on the ap side. |
