Juvenile Behavior and a Jeep SRT8 I've read that these are pretty badass in a straight line (0-60 under 5 seconds, mid-13s in the quarter) but my game with this one was up a twisty two lane on my North Georgia mountain. Even on the short straights, he wasn't pulling me, and in the curves he was clearly fighting out of his weight class. I think I did OK for a 72 year old. Anyone else ever had it out with an SRT8 Jeep? |
you stock? |
SRT8 Cherokees are no joke, but they are super heavy. I'm not surprised you kept up down a curvy road, where your center of gravity is a lot better than the SRT8's. |
Wow, you're 72 years old and you have an MS3 and sportbike? Will you adopt me as your grandson? |
Actually, three sport bikes and an 800 RWHP C5 Corvette. I already have two grandsons, and neither want the 'Vette. They're holding out for chartreuse Lambo Gallardos, which are as likely to happen as monkeys flying out of my ass. |
Do you want to pass that offer to me? Ill take the vette'! |
lol this is awesome! |
In for story of how to be successful so I can learn and enjoy life even at the brink of wearing diapers again |
+1 |
Do you also not always drink beer but when you do you drink Dos Equis? |
My beer is Yuengling Lager (cheap but good). As to how to be successful (assuming that the question was sincere): 1.get a good education in a discipline that is consistently in demand. 2. identify a career path that you'd enjoy and that plays well with your abilities. 3. marry a woman who is both hot and followed 1. and 2. 3. live below your means and avoid borrowing money for anything smaller than a house. As for getting old, it's just a damn number. Most of the people near my age stopped playing before they were 40, In my mind, I'm still about 25. |
^^ complete win. Funny how living below your means still gets your a C5 vette once you've earned it. Most people don't follow rule 3. But usually that's because they didn't do step 1 or 2. |
Amen brother. |
Marco is my new hero! I hope to feel like a kid at his age. Those 3 rules... I'm writing them down. |
The op is fucking awesome |
I'm 64 and still feel like I did in my 30's...nice to see there are some older guys here. |
Awesome guy is awesome. I followed 1 and 2, but my fiance didn't. I don't think ceramic artist (despite a degree and being good) will suddenly be in demand. |
"identify a career path that you'd enjoy and that plays well with your abilities." Good way to put it/look at it. F the wife though. If you happen to find a rare girl that isn't a total sketch ball then marry her sure. My ex took about 5 years off my life, financially and emotionally. But the SRT8... any one of them (Challlenger, GC, 300, etc) are 12 second cars from the factory given enough traction). Slap a small blower on there and go hunt Cadillac CTS-V wagons! :tongue3: |
Yep, awesome. You're making this 46-year-old feel YOUNG. I followed rules 1 and 2. Got the hot part of marrying a woman right, but she didn't follow 1 and 2, so we ended up in the financial shitter. Oh well. SRT-8 Jeeps are straight-line fast, but heavy and NOT maneuverable. |
|
The OP is truly a wise old sage! Few words with great meaning is pure win! |
Haha nice kill! I've had my run in with 2 JEEP SRT8s. The stock one, we did a 20 mph roll. I beat him by 3-4 cars to 120mph. Then ran another one on the highway, this was was modded and loud. Ran from 40-50mph roll to 120. I had him by 1-2 cars. |

My son is on the right track- sold his sport bike to invest the $$, third year of college majoring in Bioscience, close to 3.8 GPA, working 20 hrs on the weekend, investing his money. And his GF is both HOT and smart. |
@marco427 you sir are the man!!! |
Love op. I aspire to be like you sir... |
Love the title of the thread, very inspiring to become old.....lol. (22 have the smart/hot girlfriend part, and working on the job part.) Glad to see another Jeep SRT 8 down!! Sent from StalknTalk |
That srt8 jeep wouldn't happen to have been black with black wheels was it? |
the new srt8 is hot! |

The biggest tragedy I've seen in my life is watching my parents (who are 48 this year) behave like 90-year olds. In their minds they're "settled" and have had all the fun they could possibly have, now it's time to grow old and do old people things, like cooking and staying home ALL WEEKEND EVERY WEEKEND, and before anyone asks, no, they DON'T work all week, my mom doesnt even work (her visa doesn't allow it) and my dad works from home. On the other hand I see my gf's parent's who are the same age, own a 1700cc Matte-Black Triumph and go on bike trips every other weekend, visit places, and do stuff, party, throw parties, get drunk and have a hella fun time. I'm young (20) and for fucking hell I'd rather shoot myself in the foot three times and then swallow a dildo than to grow and be like my parents. at 40-50-60-70 you should be enjoying the life you've worked so hard for, not dying out. You sir, are an inspiration to me, carry on! |

BTW, thanks for all the good words guys. |

I'm also guessing you have a Cobb sticker somewhere on the car because he mentioned that too. |
Quote:
Thats fucking cool. |
No Cobb sticker, but I do have the Cobb Stage 1 tune with no mods. My largest impediment in our little competition was my wife's bitching about "tailgating". But even without that, I'm not sure that I could have passed him without collecting a couple of large, hard trees. BTW, my tires are also about shot. |
Don't adopt me... I'll become your favorite grandson and then off you once I know I've got you hooked financially. After years and years watching forensic files and investigation discovery, I know how to make it look natural too. :marchmellow: |
As long as it's painless and I can go out in the middle of an intense orgasm. |
Couldn't have been the same then. He said this speed had a large cobb banner on the windshield and it was a 60mph roll run. Funny it happened around the same time and place though. |
