KWIK-LIFT and Quick Jack BL-5000

I have the EZ Car Lift thread up and now I am looking to see what peoples review are on this. I want to know who has one, the safety and durability of it.

All of these are expensive but it can save money.

The BL-5000 has a weight cap of 3500 lbs (video said it, site says 5000 lbs) at 4:00 minutes in. That's mighty close to what our cars weigh with a person added.

The kwik-lift looks far simpler, and specialty parts dont seem necessary for future maintenance. Oh, and the kwik-lift site also tells you the price outright. BL-5000 you have to inquire.

I would trust the KWIK-LIFT over the BL-5000 just because f the simplicity of it and safety. Do you know anyone that might have one?

On the corvette and viper forums, the KWIK-LIFT is very popular. I haven't heard of a single person complaining about it. Like with most of these you'd want to get a sit up or reclined creeper to be comfortable.

The thing I like most about the kwit-lift is the surface that the vehicle is on. There is no way it can fall and the thing about the tire change is interesting so with a set of jack stands, I am guessing you can go even higher safely.

Oh it can still fail. But you can easily put your own additional safety equipment underneath it should it fail. No so easy to do with the scissor lift designs.

Right...many a set of jack stands under.

Interesting idea but you still have to have a floor jack nearby.

They have a BL-3500 so I imagine one is 3500lbs and one is 5000lbs, just the video was done for the BL-3500.

I mentioned in the other thread, the Quick Jack won't hit our jack points worth a shit...they aren't long enough. You'd have to jack under the front and middle points as it couldn't hit the rear point.

Looks like they've solved the length problem:

BL-5000XL QuickJack - Portable Car Jack System - EZ Car Lift - Portable Lift - QuickJack

Adds an extra 10" or so and I just measured it out on my MS3 and it will actually properly hit the jack points on the pinch welds front/back.

I was looking at that the other day and I will still iffy about this. You should purchase a set and do a write up

I'm moving houses soon and am going to end up buying a proper lift in the new place...so I doubt I'd pick up a set of these anytime soon. Plus it looks like this revision is even more expensive, it's pushing near the price of an entry level 2 post lift. If it was $1000 or less I might be more liable to grab one.

I am planning to do the same

So, new house...I ended up going with a Bendpak MDS-6KF. After a few months of delays from the manufacturer (they did a redesign right after I ordered it), it finally arrived today. Now just a matter of busting up a bunch of concrete and installing it in the floor. Sad when I paid to have extra concrete put down for a 2 post that ended up being useless because they cut control joints right where the posts needed to go.

Looking forward to the end result
