Launch at 3k but remember to lower the tire pressure to help gain some traction(can't remember what psi though) and shift at 6k since the car falls flat on its face at 5800rpm.

5500 ? nope. 5800, and technically mazda claims the gen2s dont run out of power till 6000, but I'll back that up witha dyno in a couple weeks.

5500 seems a bit early...

Wtf is everyone talkin about launch control?

Judging by ur post u must b on stock tires, in which case launch control should only b used to sound fast and get bitches.

To launch this car, even stock, keep ur rpms are 2100, slip the clutch while adding throttle at the same time(not more than 75% throttle), lift shift to 2nd gear at around 5500rpm, then go wot and ffs at 5800 the rest. depending on the weather and track prep u might wanna throttle control second gear if ur spinning too much. practice makes perfect, itl take a couple times to get used to slipping the clutch. But ive nailed multiple 2.1 60fts with that meathod on stock tires/suspension/ motormounts.

Lol @ launch control on stock tires.

I launch the same way as 2011speed, I hold the throttle steady around 2k, have the clutch pedal raised just a little so its about to engage, then feather the throttle as you release the clutch. Wot in 1st will spin the Shit out of the stock tires and get you nowhere fast. Then shift a little before 6k and max out 4th gear for the finish.

P.s. step on it at the last yellow. If you go on green, you're fucked.

I ran 13.8 stock. The trick I found was to hold the rpm about 3000 RPM under light throttle. Then on the signal feather off your clutch and slowly ad more throttle. I wouldn't wot til 2nd or 3rd, depending on conditions. This should get you a decent 60ft. Launching a FWD car is very difficult and although I'm alright at it, @driver311 is probably the best on this forum so I would check his threads to see if he has any advice for street tires.

Well you want to start with tire pressure...that's the key to getting traction. Think...if the tires are at 33ish psi, they're full so they can spin. Now, you lower that to say 17 psi, that's going to create a bit of flatness/softness in the tires. This way they cant completely spin. They'll more hook up.

Next, like everyone said, you need throttle control. Personally I do it like a normal take off, with higher rpm, and slipping the clutch a little more. It's better to take off slightly slower than to break loose, because then you're going to stand still for 2 seconds spinning. Launch control is more for slicks, but if you know how to use it with throttle control it can be done on the stockers. Its about timing.
